  1. I chose "A Summer to Remember in Boracay". it implies the truth that experience will last forever.

One of the best happenings a traveler could face is the experience he/she wanted to do. Everybody wants an experience that can change their lives and experience that make them proud. Unforgettable moments, wondrous things and laughable experiences are everybody's dream.

In the article, the traveler reached his goal to spent times in Boracay for the summer. He's really happy that he went their. Its just from a simple paper presentation to the wildest experience he met up. They say "expect the unexpected" it is really applicable when you travel a long way run. like what the traveler experience, he never expects that there's so many things his life may encounter in Boracay. New environment, new people and new challenge is what he met their. He really enjoys his summer their; taking pictures, finding a shelter to be comfortable and walking wearing polo shirt and pants. I'm hoping that the traveler will share this to his friends with a big smile on his face.

  2. " Exploring the city of Angels"

Visiting other countries is one of wonderful and terrific experience in one's persons life. Because you can taste the zest of life that sometimes just happen to a persons life. Thailand is also the one civilized country with a rich culture. Tasting also included the strange activities, food and other items which is different to your origin. And also it is a privilege to be part of ASEAN linguistics conference with different human race with a deep understanding on language and it also symbolizes that you're good because you come there for free.

In the end it's a good event in your life that you forget until you die.

  3. I chose "A-Summer-To-Remember-In-Boracay-Part-Two". It shows the true meaning of travel that has the memorable things that he/she encountered with the new and amazing persons that he/she met in his/her great adventure.

To experience great and memorable things are one of the most goals of each and everyone. It makes their life full of happiness and put big smiles on their faces. It also shows how great is our God that he made these things for us to enjoy and make memorable moments in our lives.

Like in this article, the author/traveler made new memorable and great things as he reached boracay to spend time there and have fun. He was just doing a paper presentation and not expecting that, that paper presentation will lead him to the wildest experiences that he didn't expected. He met new people, watch wonderful things, experience new and wonderful experiences, and the most important part is the time when it was the evening till dawn party at the Boracay, each traveler never want to miss those activities because those activities are the most enjoyable and most memorable one.

Job Well Done!, from a simple paper presentation to an unexpected experiences that the traveler encountered.

I chose the article entitled, "Exploring the City of Angels"

Upon reading the title, I inferred that the title was referring to a religious place. Since Sir Sajed is a muslim, I was thinking that the article was about his visit in Mecca, the holy city of Islam. So I expect that the article would be all about it.

With his stay in Bangkok, I could conclude that this was one of the best and one of the most unusual but interesting places he has ever been. The author expressed his great admiration for the country. He pointed out how grand this vacation was. He wouldn't be sharing these experiences if he weren't happy of this one of a kind trip. Indeed this was a very happy trip for our dear Sir Sajed and a very entertaining article for the viewers to read.

Now I wonder what happened next to the BOOM BOOM question. Hahaha!

  5. Malaysia :My New Home PART 1
the title implies the adventure of the traveler to the place that he travel.

As he travels in Malaysia, he already experiencing the way life goes by there. He communicated to people that has experiences in certain circumstances in there lives. The traveler also learning to the experiences shared by these people. Sometimes he get bored to the story of a certain person. As the journey goes by, he have met many people.

In his new journey, to Malaysia for a certain event. Excitement in his heart had never gone by. Truly, in traveling, we could learn to the experiences that we have been experienced in our journey.

  6. Going to Bangkok was one of the places I wanted to visit. Not because of the BOOM-BOOM in Silom. (Laughing out loud) That’s why I want to read this article.
    f) http://sajedsingilan.blogspot.com/2013/07/exploring-city-of-angels.html

This article implies and expresses indirectly that being a traveler and an adventurous one and knowing the culture of a place is important and can be an advantage. Important in the sense that you will know how they live. And also it is an advantage because you will be engaging new environment and learn something new.

As I read the article, I feel what the traveler felt during that travel. Going there, meeting with other people, presenting something in the conference, knowing their culture is greatly an opportunity. It is an opportunity for molding his mind into mind full of experiences, joys and happiness. For example, he, the traveler, had this great time in experiencing a Novotel, a one of a kind hotel that rarely can be found in the Philippines. I can sense that the joy overflowed in his heart as he met different people in different race. That time, every second of the travel of the traveler is a second full happiness. In his statement, “These are just some of the pleasures in Thailand. Indeed, there is heaven in Bangkok!” , it shows that the traveler was so happy touring around the place so called “heaven”, a place in which he found satisfaction.

  7. I chose the article, "A Summer to Remember in Boracay, Part 2." From the title itself, you can already infer that his travel to Boracay was a worth remembering experience. Travelling is much more fun when there are memories to treasure and friends to share with.
With his short stay in Boracay, he experienced great things such as enjoying the white sand beaches, partying all night, water adventures and many more where one can only experience in Boracay. He also met new friends along his journey. Though his purpose was only to present a paper in the international conference, he didn't miss the once in a lifetime chance of enjoying and having fun.
Indeed, this was one of the greatest and most unforgettable adventures Sir Sajed experienced in his life.

"Exploring the city of Angels "

As I read the article's title, I can clearly conclude that Mr. Ingilan went to the city (Silom)which is the center of recreation and pleasure in Thailand. I can't say that the city he visited is religiously heaven since Thailand is not a Muslim country, but "Heaven" for fun and guilty pleasure.

With regards with Mr. Ingilan's experience, we can obviously say that he had a good time visiting the country just like the other places he visited. Seriously, who can't have a good time when you are sponsored by someone? What's more, right after Sir can finish his job, he will have connections with other nationalities and he can visit popular places in Thailand. For me, Mr. Ingilan had a vacation than a presentation.

As Sir Ingilan journeys to Malaysia, little by little, he is already experiencing the way of living there. That is why he can say that "Malaysia: My New Home"

I have chosen the article "A summer to remember in Boracay".A memory that will stay forever in your heart and an experience that should be proud of forever. And it also a very often way of experience because few of us can afford to go boracay because of financial shortenings.

And its a very big privilege to the traveler that his paper on Tausug and Kagan legends would be accepted for a paper presentation that many writers would like to be invited to.And i could say that each person has its own strategies to make his life to be on the right track and to be a successful person.Sir Ingilan is a very adventurous professor and a will experienced professor.

  12. "A Summer to Remember in Boracay"(Part One) is my chosen travel article.Sir Sajed states that before he gone to Boracay he heard that the beauty of Boracay beats many famous and beautiful places in the world like Santorini,Greece and Bali,Indonesia. He noticed that the other islands that are mentioned are really beautiful world class places. So he was amazed about what he heard. He also heard comments that Boracay is famous for its white sand, luxurious hotels, bars, spas and challenging water adventures that really sounds exciting that's why he really want to go their. So he decided to go for a paper presentation at the First International young Scholars Conference. The dream of Sir Sajed lastly came through when he arrived their.

In Boracay,Sir Sajed really enjoyed his stay their.Aside from a presentation, its sounds like a great summer vacation for him. Some of his friends who already gone to the island said that Boracay is expensive and luxurious.Upon riding the tricycle with his friends to go to a place that is just a 5minute walk from La Carmela de Boracay the tricycle driver asked them to pay P100.00. He concluded that Bora is really expensive.

Inferences with the Title : I infer that the author found Malaysia as his new home. I infer that he's comfortable in there and that he transfered from Philippines to Malaysia.

Conclusion as to the overall experience of the traveler:
Filipinos are really friendly. They share their stories, give advises and listen to other's stories. The traveler just had this Overseas Filipino Worker seatmate throughout his trip to KL Sentral and in that moment he learned something about the lives of OFW and the experiences of an OFW . Yes, it stole his resting time, but it helped him understand how hard it is to be an OFW and at least made him a good man, a man that listens to his fellow Filipino's testimony.

  15. Exploring the City of Angels
I thought that the title was about exploring a place which is similar to a paradise or maybe heaven. The author described the place as a city of angels which would probably give us all the impression that the place he traveled is a very nice and a very beautiful place.
And yes I was right, the traveler experienced a lot of amazing things in Bangkok. He saw lots of beautiful places and nice people. One of his experiences in that place which I like the most as a reader of this article was when they where exploring the Patpong Night Market in Silom. A Thai approached and asked if they want Boom Boom which means sex, and for me that was funny. Therefore I conclude that Bangkok is indeed a City of Angels.

  17. "Exploring the City of Angels"

By just reading the title of the article, it simply means that "City of Angels" refers to a place like heaven where everything you need and anything you want can be found there. A place where you can enjoy your life and nothing to worry about your problems.

As I read the content of the article, my inference seems to be right because the traveler, Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan experienced a wonderful and awesome trip to Bangkok,Thailand. He describes it as a "City of Angels",for the reason that he was well-accommodated there,a great service that he had never experienced before. With his good friends, he was able to explore the place. Staying to a 4-star hotel, going to large markets to buy souvenirs and going swimming, those things can really make you relax and enjoy like you are just in heaven. As what the traveler had said, foreigners from different countries feel to be in heaven with those sexy and beautiful girls in the bars that surely enjoys the pleasure of their lives(hehehe. . .). But that real thing about it is that the traveler really had a great time in his trip to Bangkok,Thailand that's why he describes it as the "City of Angels".

Reading through the content of the article, my presumptions are accurately precise, Mr. Sajed truly explored the "City of Angels" here on Earth. That city is in Bangkok, Thailand, his fatherland. He strolled through the City's streets and always get amazed. He stayed in
a 4-star hotel, which actually could make everyone say they are in heaven. With his good friends, he strolled through the city, went swimming and going into the Bars(a place which is truly heaven). The traveler Mr. Sajed really had a great time in Thailand- it is everybody's heaven.

“Exploring the City of Angels”, the title among the 5 articles that caught my attention. What could this article be all about? Could it be about a religious travel and encounter? Or maybe it is a place like heaven, where everything you want and need is there and everything is easy and at peace? These are the two things that entered my mind.

As I read through the article my second inference seems to have hit the target right on spot. A place where everything was provided and accommodated; a high class hotel, fancy restaurants, great city views, wonderful sights, and other humanly pleasures within your reach, it’s heaven on earth indeed. In addition to all this, the experience of sharing your hard work to others and meeting new people with different perspectives, ideals and knowledge where you can learn something new from and even exchange thoughts and ideas is truly an exciting and heart pounding encounter. All in all I can say that this trip is a great learning experience not only in one's intellectual aspect but also in his emotional, physical and even spiritual aspect.

From reading the article, the author describes Bangkok as an interesting place to live wherein you can see many good stuffs.
The author surely explored the "City of Angels" of Thailand. When the author wandered through the streets of the famous Patpong Night Market I was shocked when one of the "angels" asked the author for BOOM BOOM. hahaha! I can't imagine that sex is rampant in the "city of angels"! lol but still, I believe that life is good in Thailand not because of the boom boom but to their culture, their food and everything else!I am sure that the author enjoyed his stay there at Bangkok, the City of Angels and I can say that Bangkok is truly the "City of Angels"!

Knowing that Bangkok is a populous city of Thailand and traveling alone to the said city forces you to trust to strangers.

  22. I chose “A Summer To Remember In Boracay” because it is an experience that will remain and will last perpetually in our hearts. And it exhibits the true significance of a journey that has an unforgettable experience that a traveler may encounter.

To travel is to make it the most remarkable and worth remembering as you journey different places. For me, money is unnecessary to make a journey be the most indelible experience. It is base on how you treasure and enjoy the moment and on how you manage and wisely make use of the time you possess. Even though it’s just a simple peregrinate, together with friends, it could be incapable of being forgotten.

In the article, it is really obvious that the author really enjoyed his short stay in Boracay. A wise traveler indeed! As I read the title "Exploring the City of Angels," me, being a person who loves mythology and legends, my mind thought of angels with wings, but I snapped back to reality and thought to myself,"maybe Sir Sajed didn't mean that, maybe he meant the city being heavenly and luxurious."

As I read the article, I concluded that my second inference was correct. Staying in a 4-star hotel, with a flat-screen television, air-conditioned room, a big bedroom, a clean and non-stinky toilet, and an open lounge for viewing the city of Bangkok, surely it must've felt like heaven.
But aside from that, what Sir Sajed was really looking forward to was the 23rd meeting of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Association which is an annual tradition cherished by community of linguists from USA, Asia, and Australia sharing an interest in the languages of Southeast Asia. Like what Sir Sajed said in the article,"This is what I love. Connections. Connections."

And, of course, who would ignore the opportunity to explore Bangkok while staying there? I wouldn't. The City of Angels, is a city of angels indeed. Not only having luxurious places to stay, but also for the great pasalubongs he can take home.
Buit wait, there's more, who would pass on the chance for a little "gimick"? They also visited a night market named Patpong, and met very beautiful women and men, and also learned the term,"BOOM BOOM."

Such a beautiful experience Sir Sajed had. Though he only wanted to attend the meeting of SEALS, he got more than what he expected, and such the saying goes: "Expect the unexpected."

    ReplyDelete
  26. I chose "Malaysia: My new home (part 1)". At first, I thought that Sir Sajed would be settling to Malaysia for good but after I read the whole topic, I realized that my inference was wrong.

It is an experience where you are proud to share because not all can have that experience as much as you do. Indeed, the traveler must be very grateful to his experiences during that time. He has met new persons and was able to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Malaysia. The traveler must be very motivated on doing his task because he already felt the good aura.

The traveler's expectations are still high because his journey to Malaysia has just began....

  29. Each of us wants to travel, to explore, and to discover new things in life. Malaysia : My New Home ( Part Two ) is the title that snapped my interest. Saying the word "home" means you are in your comfort zone. You have no worries at all. Does this means Sir Sajed has a home outside our country? It is difficult to look for a place that makes you feel you are at home but it seems that Sir Sajed had found one.

As I have read the article, I was quite right about my inference. He was in his comfort zone. He enjoyed his stay in Malaysia because of the warm welcome he had received, the culture, the tradition, the accommodation, and even the people. He had no worries where to eat because of a lot Halal restaurants in there, unlike in Bangkok. Though the one doctor had some point in saying " Mahirap ang buhay sa Pinas. Full time teacher dito, part time teacher sa kabila. Kayod talaga.” it is quite difficult to leave the place you were used to. But being practical and thinking of your future, going to abroad may lead you to luck. I can tell, his experience in Malaysia seems to be trying to convince him to work in abroad. Though points have taken in trying to convince him to work in abroad , I can tell that he had also fun in his stay, his vacation I can say.

  30. “MALAYSIA: My New Home (Part 2)”

As inferred from the title of the article, my first idea was that it seemed that the author has found a place where he feels very comfortable and welcomed. He had found somewhere where he feels like he could fit in, enough to even call it his “new home.”

While reading through the contents of the article, my inference turned out to be quite accurate. In a country dominated by Muslims, the author felt like this he truly belonged. He experienced in Malaysia the joy of being in a Muslim heaven. The traveler felt very warm and welcomed, all thanks to his new friends whom he had just recently met at the time. His new friends even accompanied him and shared about their lives in Malaysia and back in the Philippines. They talked about how beautiful and great their lives have been ever since they went to Malaysia, and tried to convince him by comparing it the harsh and tiring lifestyle in the Philippines. Indeed this all seemed very alluring to him and thus lead him to ask himself. Should he get out of his comfort zone and try his luck abroad? Could he pay the price of being far away from his family for a chance at a better life overseas? These are questions in which he still tries to find the answers himself.

I came up with some research regarding why Bangkok is called the city of angels and in relation to my assumption, some said that Bangkok is called the 'City of Angels' because vast of beautiful girls can be found in here. Another answer according to a more reliable source says that in Thai language, Bangkok is known as Krung Thep (กรุงเทพ), which roughly translates to 'City of Angels'. One does not simply research about the history of Bangkok's name but as for someone who traveled around Bangkok and harnessed the heaven out of it, it doesn't matter what is the meaning of its name as long as it fulfills the task as being the 'City of Angels'.

In my opinion, the author portrayed Bangkok as heaven because he is certainly contented in attaining his desires and satisfaction he could find in the city. Who would not feel comfortable on staying a place with a flat screen television, air-conditioned room, elegant toilet, generously sized bedroom with an open plan lounge area and city views of Bangkok? This could be a point of idea we can infer on why the author feel heaven in this place.

After thoroughly reading the article, I came up with such conclusion --- Bangkok is not only a mere replica of heaven where you can feel comfort in such a great way but also a great place to amuse yourself and utilize its immense resources that guarantee happiness and contentment. Also I want to emphasize that Bangkok doesn't only offer souvenirs but also entertainment in certain places particularly the famous Patpong Night Market in Silom. It's a place where people of different nations are enjoying the pleasure of life. Overall, in my viewpoint, Bangkok is indeed a very great place where you could experience heaven literally and mentally. Don't get me wrong, I won't go to SILOM and do the BOOM BOOM.

  36. My inference regarding to the title is that, Mr. Sajed is promoted and assigned in the Malaysia and he wants to live and enjoy his life in Malaysia.
    "Malaysia: My New Home(Part 1)"
I concluded that my inference was wrong.

"Malaysia: My New Home" means that,Mr. Sajed feels at home because there are Muslims also in the Malaysia. His companions shared their experiences after they left the Philippines to test their luck in abroad. Mr. Sajed realizes that they are right, getting out of your comfort zone will make you a better future.

  37. The inference I developed from the title alone, 'Exploring the City of Angels' , was that the traveler was going to visit a city with heart-warming welcomes from the inhabitants. But, as I read along the article, I came to a conclusion that my inference has not hit the mark. The traveler went to a city with a heaven-like feature with amazing swimming pools with matching fitness center. The people are so king there that they even offered themselves. :) I conclude that going to foreign places for yourself is a great adventure and we can learn so much from that adventure alone.

  39. "MALAYSIA : My New Home ( Part Two)"

Just by reading the article you could infer that the author of the article had a great time in his travel abroad. He even had some thoughts of staying there and making it his new home. Even though he could be much more richer and have a great life in Malaysia, but could he do it? Could he sacrifice the the time for his family and happiness he can get in living in Davao? These are the questions that still bothers his mind. I know that the author will not make a bad decision in choosing his career because he is a grown man and can make his own decisions clearly and I also know that he won't regret his decisions.

  40. I chose the "A Summer to Remember In Boracay(part1). The traveler was so lucky, when he received a letter of acceptance, he was so excited and he don't want to miss his opportunity to invade Boracay. When he arrived at that place he was amazed of many luxurious hotels, bars, relaxing spas, and challenging water adventures. But he was shocked when the driver asked them 50 and 100 pesos for the fare.
(I think the driver asked them that fare because the driver thought that Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan is a foreigner)

  43. A Summer To Remember in Boracay (Part One)

As I read the title, I inferred that it was about Boracay (obviously LOL). Just kidding, I inferred that it was about the beginning of the traveler's adventure at the said place.

After I read the article, I can conclude that the traveler had a wonderful experience at Bora since he has been a 'beach lover since time immemorial' plus the luxurious hotel at a reasonable price and the energy from his colleagues in USEP Obrero and Tagum. The invasion at the World's Best Island was indeed a heaven-like experience.
