Sir, as an expound for my thought

therefore; whoever persons around us we must respect them especially those disabled persons, we do not need to look down them by using power and language. In this scenario shows that at the end we would realize that we must love that kind of people instead of discrimination, because they are created by God no one can discriminate them through power and language.

The mayor of the Davao City is Powerful and High Standard of the policies because he want to prove us that he can handle our city when their is a crime or anything can effect our city . He is the one who is powerful and he is the right one to lead our city from the terrorism , kidnappers , snatchers , illegal drugs , and other bad influence to effect our city.

Base on what i read in the article, It was the interaction
between the powerful person and person who have only low power.
I relate it with my personal life, The scenario is when I was
in high school my teacher gave me a small grade. It was a big
insult to me because I am not deserving with that grade. I
consult her for that problem "she said that it is final and no
one can change her decision. so I accept it because she is
the most POWERFUL in our class .It proves that her LANGUAGE
has the POWER to command us.

I personally experienced the language and power.
Based on my experienced when I was working three years ago.The situation between me, my co-workers and our manager. The scenario is when my manager command me I always obey her for my thought that she had the authority to dictate on me or she had the language and power to be followed. When my co-workers commands me I usually neglect them for my thought that they don't had the right to dictate on me because they don't had the power nor language or they are not in the position.
It shows in the scenario that who is respect is in the higher position and who is disrespect is under position.

Language and Power are related to each other because for me , language is the mirror of the culture , and the power is based on what culture you belong. When you use your language, other people will know what culture we came from. Example of that is when we go to America and we use Filipino Language there, the Americans thought that we are Filipinos and they know what is our culture.

The Tausugs will never follow the commands of our President because our President is a Christian, and the Tausugs will just follow any commands if that commands are given by a Muslim leaders and that practice is based on their culture.

Language is the mirror of the culture, and the Tausugs culture has their own practices and beliefs. And that is why even you have all power, you cannot control the Tausugs because they have different practices that makes them more powerful.

Some people coordinate more with interlocutors who have higher power than with those who have lower power. I can relate this things in our city ordinance which the "The New Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance in Davao City". Mayor said that there will be a sanction or punishment if anyone caught in the act smoking in the public places. This city ordinance was implemented last 2012. But before this law was implemented, there are a lot of people who died because of smoking and at the same time, many teenagers are addicted in using cigarettes. And maybe these people receive some advices came from their parents, friends and relatives that they need to stop smoking because it is dangerous to their health. But they don't listen to the people who are concern to them.Until, there is a law shared into the public. This law is all about anti-smoking ordinance. When this law was implemented,no one is smoking in public areas. Few people are smoking because they afraid of the sanctions given by government.

In this case, some people need to be discipline through government or a person who have high in power and language. They don't give any respect to a person who is lower or the same level to their age or standard. This is really unfair! we are just all the same. Though we have different standard in life, some are poor, some are rich. But we have the same one goal and that is to be UNITED as one.

In my own experience, I always obey my parents because they have the power over me. Especially if I'm underage or I'm staying at their abode. Parent's instructions must be obeyed because of their wisdom that comes of age and experience. Even the bible says that: "Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right." (Ephesians 6:1)

Aside from obeying my parents, All of us regardless of races, dialects, culture, languages it is most proper to obey GOD rather than men. "We must obey God rather than human beings."(Acts 5:29). Even these men is in high positions, power that they may have. God is in control even the lives of presidents, senator, etc. these men in power cannot do anything when God gives the order. Because all of us are created and we are from God.

  9. I can cite a scenario between language and power by showing the relationship of the Goverment and the people .

    - the people has the power to choose a leader to rule and to take good care of the nation while the Goverment is required to speak to inform the people what are their plans and decisions .

    - the Goverment has the authority and power to implant policies and laws while the people has the right to speak. They are free to shout for their opinions and suggestions and the right to agree nor to disagree .

For me , it's just a matter of give and take process between the two forces in order to build a good relationship .

based on the article , people only recognized and obeyed those people who were in the position . For example , family having individual belief at home but their has the language and power to command and rule , to obey especially older than us , the power itself is their and another one as what to observed among the Tausugs it is the Sultan is the most powerful . Why? because they have culture . The President of the Republic of the Philippines also is the most powerful man in the world , but in different way , as christian we respect because the power as the President of the Republic of the Philippines respectful because of higher position .

Base on my experience I can site a scenario about power and language on what we have experience right now. For example is our government. Our government can do what they to do because of their power and also by using the language that they know by using that kind of language, people can understand. I think also without language their will no be power.

Base on my experience as R.O.T.C cadet, I always obeyed and give respect to the officers even though some of them are insulting us. We can't do anything though were tired because we should obeyed them.

We can't deny the fact that in our society , the one who is in high position in life is the one who gained more respect from others.

But we should be humble don't use your position to underestimate others.

It is true that people who have higher power and position are more respected and nicely treated than people who are in lower power and position or just an ordinary person.

I can relate this scenario when we were riding a bus, aboard in the ferry boat going home, one of the passengers was complaining for her ticket. Without hesitating, she directly scolded the conductor on the bus. The conductor tried to explain but the passenger did not listen to him for she wants to talk to their head in the office. Such a coincidence, the manager was also aboard in the ferry boat. The manager already saw the scenario inside the bus but he was wondering what happened there. He commanded his driver to see what was happening. When the manager knew that the passenger was mad to the conductor because of her wrong ticket, he madly get outside his car and without hesitating, he directly faced the conductor and PUNCH and INSULT him many times. The conductor was shocked. He can't understand why his manager did not gave him a chance to explain what happened. But he did not fought back because he knew that that person was his manager and he respected him for he has higher power and position.

If you have higher power and position, your language is powerful too.

One of the best example of this scenario is the relationship between the mayor and the people. The people should also free to speak their objections and feelings about the mayor same also to our president.

Yes, the text is indeed correct because nowadays people only obeys/follows those who has a power in the society and those simple persons are just nothing to them. So language has a great relationship with power.

Example, one day when i was at the school, a teacher has come to our class very angry and complaining about something. So what we do is to explain everything to him/her but he/she was not listening to us because he/she want our class mayor, even if we are explaining at right. But what should we do, because that time our class mayor is absent. Therefore, me and my classmates left her in our classroom. And on the next day, our mayor talk to that teacher and explained as we have explained to that teacher. And the teacher has calmed down. So we wondered why? What we explained was just the same with our mayors explanation?

So, that the reason why language and power is related to each other, because if you have the power, your thoughts/ language has power too.

I am agree that Language and Power are related to each other. Because language reflects our culture and the culture reflects power.
There was one scenario in my life that when me , together with my friends went to our Municipal Hall to be able to get a SPES slot to have a summer job. We waited long time to pass the requirements needed. But there was one girl who just arrived but she directed to the mayor's office without lining with us for long ours. We are shocked because it her requirements was immediately accepted and she got a slot to the SPES. Then, we just knew that she was a niece of one of our councilors so she was accepted immediately. We realize that the government officers in our municipality has special treatments to the persons who are related in the different government officials.

Language and Power are very much related to each other because if you're in a higher position in the society, your voice or your command is always heard and followed.

based on my experience a year ago, my teacher in high school told me to write an excuse letter for the Red Cross Youth Festival participants and submit it to the office for the approval of the principal, but when i gave the letter to her, she told me to produced more than five copies of the letter before she will approve it.Then i printed out ten copies of the letter and i submit it to her, but she complained because it was too many.I immediately went to my teacher and beg her to talk to the principal for the approval of the excuse letter.Fortunately, the principal gave her approval after their conversation with my teacher.
I'm so disappointed with my principal's attitude, i know that i am only a student but she must understand my wants. It was so unfair to me because when it comes to the teacher, she immediately gave the approval without asking for anything.

That was an example of the relationship of language and power. The teacher has a higher position than the student, that's why her voice is always heard and the voice of the student is sometimes neglected.

Indeed, it is very true that people nowadays only obeys/follows those who has higher position or has power to command you and sad but it's true that we don't usually believe those low profiled or just a ordinary person in our society. As I experienced in high school my friends and I were very noisy and our classmates warned us to keep quite because they were studying our lessons but then we just laughed and were very noisy again. But when our President of the class shouted on us and warned us that we don't keep quite she would report us to our adviser. So we don't had a choice but to keep quite because we knew that she has a power over us.

Power plays an important role in social interactions and yes, it's truly indeed.

I experience like this during my fourth year days when I was one of the CAT officer at our school. There was once a time where we're having a formation and talked about something. Our company commander told us to do like this but as far as I remember, our battalion commander didn't give us a task just like what she has given. We confirmed it to our Bat.Cor and followed what he has commanded for he has a higher power and rank than the other one.

Language and power is really related to each other. I can say that the higher rank has a higher power but sometimes it depends upon the situation on who to obey/follow.

  21. Language, power, and identity are intertwined with each other For me. The way a person speaks or writes determines that person's power (social status) in the world. For example The Tempest illustrates how power and language are related. In all Shakespearean plays, like The Tempest, European nobles use different a style compared to people of lower social status.

Thats Why for me ... Ultimately, language power and identity are correlated

As the society showed us all powerful men can control us, whether we like it or not they dictate us on what they want to do with us. We follow those powerful men because they have the authorization to dictate and control us even we don’t want to do it but because we can have a penalty for mot doing what they want. With this situation, they don’t respect the decisions of the people. It’s just that we need to respect everyone whether they have a position in our society or not.

Those people who has the position and the authority are those person who are truly respected and well-obeyed. I, myself, has also experienced this things. Way back when I was in high school, I'm one of the officers of the Supreme Student government and a president in our class. I don't know why my fellow schoolmates follow my words even if I'm also like them, a normal student. I have observed that I have that sense of leadership which gives me power to lead and be listened by my fellow schoolmates. That's how I relate power to language.

There was a girl who is mute , working in a company. One day, one her co-worker harassed her. So she decided to report it in their head of the company. But then again , the head of company didn't do anything about it. So she decided to ask some help to her friend. And then they decided to pass a complain in the hall of justice. A court trial come, and after the trial the judge decided, the compliant win the trial which is the mute and the one who is being complain lost the trial.

In this situation,no one in each one of us should not hurt or harassed just because of you have a disability. With the use of language you have the power to regain your rights as a human being. :)

For me, language is related to power because if you have power, people will respect and believe in you compared to those people who have low power.

For example in school, when you are talking to the principal or teachers, you talk to them politely and will all respect. But if you are talking to your friends, classmates or people lower than you, you talk normally and say what you really feel like, "lagut man ka uie!", "ambot nimo", but you can't say these words to your teachers or to the principal because they are respected and have power. So language and power are related together.

The respect and obedience begins in the family. If you obey and respect one another, you will have a happy and prosperous life. Based on my experienced when I was in grade school I learned that we should respect our elders, a symbol of good manners. Here in the Philippines, we use "po" and "opo" symbol of respect and obedience to elders and those with high position people. We act upon our affability and obedient that we also respected and followed by others. Being a student I must respect and obey others so I may be respected and obeyed too.

We observe that if a person has a higher position, he/she rule in the group, in a class, in a company, or even in our society. He/she can control what he/she wants just make him/her satisfied. He/she is the powerful among them. And for those in an ordinary people, they have nothing to do just to follow his/her orders. So, there is an interaction between the power and a language.

One of the example was happened during 4th year. By that time, I'm the newly elected president of Historical Society Club. I'm so excited to conduct different activities because I want to conquer our month by conducting many activities. I want them to make that month interesting and memorable. I settled a meeting regarding to our plans with the officers. We planned to have a quiz bee and flag making contest. The main highlight of our event is the open house where classrooms were designed based on the culture of the selected country and of course, we also have the Mr and Ms. UN. It was approved by our Moderator but suddenly, those major events were rejected by our principal due to having the reason that we must first focus in our academic fields. I think that principal doesn't want to waste our time to participate for those. In my part, I felt disappointment and rejected. I told myself that I'm such a useless president. Since our principal is the most powerful in our school, I can't do anything about it. I have no right to complain and I need to respect her decision. I have no choice but to change our plans instead.

So, in that case, there is a relation between the power and a language.

In this world where many people will judge you from head-to-toe yet, still you can be respected.

A person can be respected by what he has attained in his life. For example, a manager is respected by his employees;a President is being listened by his countrymen. That is for the reason that their position is paired with power.
And Power is related to Language.

"We converse and of obey the person who has higher power and use polite words". (an excerpt in the article "Language and Power")

However, based on my experience, I was not the one being obeyed but I was the one being bossed around by those people who have the "sense of superiority". For example, me,as a student and our teacher. We are just common people but we differ in power.

Back when I was in high school, our teacher always tasked us to write news that are recent ofcourse. Our teacher uses language and his power to command us . And on our side, we use our power and language to ask our teacher about things that need clarification.

Indeed, power and language are important in social interaction.

One of the simplest instances showing connection between language and power is the way we treat our parents, teachers, principals and other people we consider an authority. Don’t we talk to them respectfully and always listen to their commands?

In one case, I was told by our org adviser to ask for the principal’s approval to be excused from class for an outreach activity. I talked to her and explained my concern but to my dismay she did not honor my request. Subsequently, our adviser talked to her and I was not surprised that she gave her the approval.
See? When I talked to the principal, I was not heard because I am a mere student whilst my adviser was immediately consented.

People listen to the words of those who they consider an authority. That is why language and power are very much connected.

Language is a means of expressing thoughts or feelings through speaking and power is a particular ability to control, influence and has the authority to lead.

One of the scenes I've encountered way back in my past years that could relate language to power was during the time when we were about to make an investigatory project. Of course, as a member of the group, I had the right to suggest ideas and informations that would improve our work. But sad to say, they've just ignored my ideas. Since the leader had the power to make the decisions, me and my co-members has nothing to do with.

Likewise, in the scenario of our country now, as mentioned in the article, people tend to look by means of having a position and those persons who belong to a higher status of living were being obeyed and respected. While the ordinary people who belong to a lower status of living were unfairly treated, and the worst is being bullied in the society.

We must remember that we should respect and interact fairly to everyone, for the reason that we were born EQUALLY in terms of rights. In my perspective, that's how language relates to power.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The way you talk to a person will reflect if how you respect him/her. Aside from that, it will also determine whether that person is powerful or not. And I realize that conclusion because of a certain experience of mine.

There is a food eatery near to our school. Every time that there's a student buying food, the seller is very strict to the students, especially when they asking the prize of that particular food. She don't even think that as a seller, she must be nice to all her costumers. But she just do that if the costumers are teachers, the way she approach to them was very polite, and it is unfair to our part, because we are still a costumers, and they have benefited so much because of the students who are their constant costumers.

From that experience, I really realize that power can make a great influence to other people and can make the people treat you politely. But it is not right that you will just give respect to a person who is powerful, because respect will be given for those who are worthy of it.

I can relate with this kind of scenario interms of power and language. The scenario goes between our teacher in highschool and her students (referring to us, our section). There was a day that she was teaching us and one of my classmates raised his hand and say, “Excuse me Ma’am may mali po sa naturo ninyo sa amin kahapon, gusto ko lang po sana iclarify”, and then our teacher stared and yelled at us and saying some unnecessary words to us just like “All of you, you’re only a student here, and you have no right to correct me! Whatever I teach to you is correct and that’s it! Don’t correct me because I know what I’m doing!” So, after that she left us. We felt bad not because our teacher in highschool yelled to us but because of the reason that WE LOST OUR RIGHT, our right as a students. Yes we are only a student but our teacher cannot understand that “If there is no teacher, there are no students” and “if there are no students then there is no teacher to guide”. Yes, our teacher has the power, but I think she must also know how to use it in the good way, not to the extend that the power she had as a teacher may affect the rights of the students. I want also the language she use will served as a weapon guide, for her to be respected.

One good example or scenario showing Power and Language is the government and the people, just like other people say. The government uses their power to implement rules or let the people do what they want the people to do. While the people uses their voices to speak out what they wanted to say to the government.

Based on the article read, another example for that happens inside the house. A younger sister/brother listen to what their parents say instead of what their older brothers or sisters would say. Even though the thought is the same, they would still listen to those person with higher authority/ power than those who does not.

After I read the text, it is true that language and power is related to each other because if you have the power in the society then your commands / language is highly respected and everyone will follow you.

And based on my experiences about this topic is when I was at the airport. There's a passenger who is complaining that he is not being entertained so the guard talked to him but the customer is not listening to the guard. He wants the manager to talk to him and when the time that he talked to the manager he just calmed down, so it means that because the guard has the lower power the customer did not listen to him and when the manager talked he calmed down. So it means if you have the power everyone will follow as what you says or your language is respected by everyone.

Power and Language show ones identity; through language you can see the person’s position in life. Base on the article that I've read once a person know how to speak with his/her right; he/she has the power to express his/her point of view . Through this everyone around him/her recognized his/her position the way he/she speak and that is language and power. If I would be ask to give a scenario base on my experience of what is the relationship between power and language; that is, my older brother, we are three in the siblings I am the second one and I have a younger brother. My older brother was the one assign by my mother and the one who will took good care of us as my mother command to him. I and my younger brother are aware already that we should follow all his orders if we think that is right, as what I've observed I notice that he speak in a mature manner that I can see he really is a roller .But there are instances that orders are not been follow by us specially when that order is not okay in our part. And all that I know that we can do is to speak and make sure that when we speak our reason is valid and acceptable to avoid chaos. Through language you can gain power, not a power that is literally being bossy but a power to speak of what you think is right that make a certain situation okay without harming any one.

First and for most one thing should give us the power to talk is that the position indicate within yourself regarding in the higher society we evoked to impart in our all dealings to manipulate those matter.

when i read this description entitled language and power. we, as a people who is part in our society given a chance to talk and let us to do things possible enough to encourage as us a lower position to our co-city. I, me and myself obey the roles which is rely on the society we really brought us a constraints where we can find the best thing we should to do the better way in our city which noted by the one and most powerful man in our city mayor Mr. Rodrigo Duterte.

As I bring the output of necessary matter where we one of the good influence in our fellow people we probably make it good and better to each in everyone who will be a next leader.

  41. Language and power have a relationship to each other because when you say power its an example of a person who is in the higher position and language is a form of words that uttered from a person and it is use by expressing our feelings and thoughts and it is a complex systems of communication.

I have a experience base on power and language.Last year I work at a one company and my position is a Store Marketing Assistant and Im focus at the marketing strategy all of the marketing merchandises. The scenario goes like this there's a time that our manager was invited to go at Manila to attend a seminar so Im the one who is in charge to the employee. So on that day Im the one who is responsible to whole operation.but suddenly on that day there's a lot of crew who is absent cause they know that some of the manager is not around so Im so stress on that day that's why I beg some of the crew if they can extend their time of duty in order to fill up the lacking of man power so since I don't have that power they didn't obey me they go out when their time is already come. And i texted the crew who is absent on that they if they can duty so I didn't receive any reply from them.So on that scenario since i don't have a power my words is not that powerful when it comes to the crew but if our manager already the one who are asking them to extend they just say yes because they prefer to obey our manager than me.

As my personal experience, when I was in high school. Our class president is very bossy and she want us to obey her. She takes the opportunity as the class president make us servant. At first it is okay for us but days goes by she always command us. It was very unfair to us. One day, she command me to buy something. I didn't obey her command so she angry to me that why we argue. I tell her I am not her servant. Although, she have the power but she have no right to make us her servant and obey all her command even though it is not right.

I do believe that the people coordinate more with interlocutors who have power than with those who have lower power. In fact,we do not automatically believe to the people that belongs on the lower stratum in the society, whereas we will listen and interact well to the people who have power. We converse and obey to a person who has high power, this statement is really true.I can relate this scenario based on my experience when I was in high school. I am the one of the officer of Drum and Bugle Corp.As a a officer of a organization my members was always cooperate and coordinate me as a leader of a organization, they obey me in what I had told them than their co-members.So there is a big relationship language and power.

As i read this article the phrase "people coordinate more with interlocutors who have higher power than with those who have lower power." really touch my emotional state because I don't know if I will be going to agree or disagree with this one because maybe it is true that people who came from higher position has more knowledge and maybe their order is for our good but on the other hand those people who came from lower position has still have the right to be respect and also in the eye of the Lord our God all of us came from the same level with no poor or rich people.

The best experience that I encounter in my life that best explain the relationship between POWER and LANGUAGE is the relationship between Me and My Parents. I usually ask favor from them or shall we say I usually ask permission from them to hang around with my friends so that for the mean time free my self from all the stress and problems that I encounter but usually they really don't allow me even if I keep on telling them my purpose. On the first place I really get mad at them but sooner or later I will still understand their reason of not allowing me. I must obey their order because even if for me I am right but still they are my parents and they still have more POWER than me.

  45. Language and Power is about how language works to maintain and change power relations in contemporary society.

One of the scenes I've encountered a year ago:
When I was attending a conference together with my "friend", I was about to finish my paper when that friend requested me that we will pass it together, but their was only one slot left. And her paper was chosen. Though my paper has more effort than her. And I realized that It was her Aunt collecting those papers. It hurts. But I accept it, because I cant do anything. The society now is in favor of whom you are engage with. Sad to say that it is the fact.

There are some people that they use a higher languages as a power so that they are priority to say her higher languages as a power. This article are related to our society its because the more you watch a new about our country , that is a reality and you cant never change it unless you have a role as a higher position. The story is very nice and full of meanings to our country.

One example or scenario that shows the relationship of language and power is in a group of students. In the group, there is a necessity to choose a leader for a certain activity or project that would the group. Definitely, the members of the group would choose the one who sounds intelligent because they think he/she can manage the group in the way he/she talks to them. But, that doesn't mean that all that he/she is right. There may be better ideas but never heard because they are afraid of expressing in the fear of criticism or rejection of their ideas.

In line with this, language has a relationship with power. Because, one can attain power through language. Language can increase a person's power especially when he can express himself intelligently because he knows how to handle certain circumstances that makes him a leader or powerful. But, that doesn't mean that powerful are those educated people only. Expressing oneself is a power. Express yourself in a way that you consider other people's feelings.

An example of language and power is the declaration of law by the senators and approved by the president. They had a right to do it because they have a power because of their positions. Then, they also use their language. People have to obey in it order to have peaceful country and well organize. But the disadvantages of it is is that some people is against on it and they already knew that their right of freedom and democracy is controlled by the government.

The government use their POWER and LANGUAGE to rule us and we must obey to those who have a higher POWER and LANGUAGE . I agree with this statement " POWER plays an important role in social interaction as evident in the situations in Sabah and in our community. Language coordination has a relationship to POWER " because were having a conflict between the government and people by means of misunderstanding , just for example the tausug's and the president because these Muslims will believe on their fellow Muslims such as the imam and the Sultan than the President of the Republic of the Philippines. This is the very reason why the government cannot control the Tausug army. For me Language and Power changes not from talking about words but from using them and Humans need language and Power both to think such thoughts and to communicate other people , they must have a agreement to solve that conflict here in Mindanao .

In a more narrow sense, this understanding of the “power of language” is a matter of the instrumentalisation of language for the purpose of exercising power. As the society showed us all powerful person can control us, whether we like it or not they dictate us on what they want to do with us. We follow those powerful person because they have the authorization to dictate and control us even we don’t want to do it but because we can have a penalty for not doing what they want to do. With this situation, they don’t respect the decisions of the people. It’s just that we need to respect everyone whether they have a position in our society or not, so that power and language are important in social interaction.

Power, for me it is the ability to dictate someone who is under by your power. And Language is a system of communication in expressing your thoughts and emotions in such thing.

I can relate this passage back home in our Municipality.I came from Magpet, North Cotabato. Most of the people living in our place are Bagobo.Last 2004 the Mayor is a Bagobo. When the election came, there is a person also runs in the position of being a Mayor and that person is an Ilonggo. When the time comes that Bagobo Mayor heared a news that the Ilonggo person has many supporters, that the time Bagobo Mayor used her power to dictate all the Bagobo person to vote her.And the Bagobo tribe supported that Mayor in the election, because they have a big respect to that person.
That's why I conclude that POWER has a great relationship to LANGUAGE because the person who has the POWER to be respect by the people and LANGUAGE to speak clearly the thoughts they want to express and to be understood by a normal living person.

  52. For human beings to produce the means of subsistence they have to cooperate and in order to do so, they have to communicate. Language is the main instrument of communication at the disposal
of human beings; consequently, the specific language in which the production processes take place becomes the language of power. To put it differently, if one does not have the requisite command of language , one is automatically restricted in one’s options as regards access to employment.

I encountered that event when I was joining the city meet in our city. The Guest Speaker on that opening of the meet was the mayor. So the mayor gave his opening speech. Every one applaused for the mayor. But when I joined the school level damath competition. The guest speaker at that time was the President of the PTA(Parents and Teacher Association). Not all gave their applause. In that events I realized the power of language.

Language and power is related because the position of a person have something to do to imply his words to be followed by the people whom have the lower power.
Site for this example that our country president implied the RH Law, even though our priests was not in favor of the said law, our president with his power made the law to be invoked.
Base on my experience about power and language back when I was working in my auntie's store,on what commands she gave to me is my duty to do because she is my boss and I,as an employee obeyed her words.
I can say that POWER makes the LANGUAGE to be execute.

Language is related to power. Language is the greatest power; with great language a person can accomplish many things in life.

Now, this is a scenario that would show how language and power are related with each other:

A president of a certain organization proposes a solution to their budget shortage problem. But, the officers of this organization disagree to his proposal. The treasurer then suggests another proposal and the officers think it is the right thing to do. The president did not accept the treasurer's proposal but indeed think that his proposal is the best way to do to solve their problem. Since he is the president, his followers couldn't help but to follow his order.

Therefore, power is gained through language, which in turn can shape a person's identity.

Power plays an important role in social interaction and language coordination has the a relationship to power.

I can cite this situation of the registrants in comelec who are fighting for clarification if there is an extension for registration .Concierge announced that it's already time and instructed people to go home because the office will be close, but people did not believe and continue hoping for an extension.
Meanwhile there was a man coerced to got inside the office and talked to comelec official about the state of registration, when he went out he shared to everyone with the same thought but some people still hesitated to believe and they requested comelec officials to face them for better clarifications.
One of the comelec personnel went out and explained well to people with the same statement and after it people got satisfied.
I really wonder why even me don't easily believed the man :?

Indeed, we believe and obey the person who has the higher power that speaks seems realistic to us,so this is how language and power collides with each other.

There are some instances in my life that I can say that I can relate on the relationship between language and power.

Example of that is when I was in grade school. We we're playing at the corridor of our classroom and there was many wrappers around, when our janitress passed she asked us to picked those garbage and one of our classmate said "Ngano kami man ate na ikaw man ang janitress". We didn't know that our teacher was there listening to us...she get mad and said that we picked all those wrappers around...since she's our teacher we obeyed what she said...but if the janitress is the one who told us to do so...I don't think we would obey her. That's my experience regarding the related between Language and Power.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the police and the military to "lock down" the city as pursuit operations against at least 10 fleeing suspected kidnappers intensified. This sentence comes from an Inquirer News its seems that the ordered of mayor respect by the police to caught the criminals and ordered to shoot to kill those kidnappers for the safe for policeman and to all people. If we read that sentence it seems that the mayor we elected had a power to mandate all people because he has all those words to decide wherever it's hard or easy for us.

In the school, there is a principal, a teacher and students. A certain organization plans to hold an event. Before they can push through the event, they need to inform first their adviser, which is a teacher. If their teacher approved it then, they need to ask permission to the principal. If the principal disapproves their concern, then they cannot hold the said event within the school premises.
The principal’s disapproval in having the event inside the school premises shows the relationship of language and power. The disapproval of the event is the language used by the principal to show that she disagrees about the purpose of the organization to have that event. Within the language used, you can see that the principal has all the power to condemn the event. Therefore, language itself possesses a power.

Based on my experience the scenario that would show the relationship between language and power is when I am in my High School days, I had a band named 'Sentimental String' and I am the vocalist, my band mates name are Rikka, Kurt, and Deejay when I am in 3rd year every Saturday we will had gig in different places and our aim is to perform in our school and to be representative in contest in different school and luckily it happened, and one time our school is inviting the different group of band that we had in our to school to had audition so that they will choose who is the best to be the representative in our school, when we heard that news we immediately joined the audition and unexpectedly they choose us to be the representative among all the bands who joined that audition. And we are so happy for that and we are so excited to that event so everyday in our vacant time we will go to the music room to had a practice for our song and one time we forgot to put it back all the musical instruments to the 'budiga' and our directress/ RVM principal saw all the the musical instrument in the music room and she get angry for what she saw, so she called us to go in her office to have explanation but we are so scared to look at her face and to talk with her but we still go to her office for the sake of the contest but sad to say our explanation to her is not valid so she decided that our band will not joined that contest any more and our school is not part of that contest because of us. We feel regret for what we've done but we must accept it because that is her decision and she have the power to decide everything because she is our principal.

therefore if we are only an ordinary person we cannot do something to please anybody regarding to what you've said because they will base it on what standard you are in the society if you are rich then a lot of people will respect but if you are poor and you don't have any degree then a lot of people will ignore/ disrespect you.
