In Babai Puti Ha Kahuy Nunuk

In waktu kamaasan pa, mataud in nag-inu-inu ha kahuy landuh in lagguh iban lanjang.In kahuy ini in pag-iyanun Nunuk. In mga tau daing ha gimba liyalaul ha pagpangaan pangi, maghalihali ha kahuy ini.

Hambuuk adlaw, nanga kahuy hi Sala.Hinnuk in hula. Paglabay niya ha tungod sin kahuy nunuk, kiyabawnusan niya na awn tau ha sawm kahuy, sah way niya ini yasip. Timuytuy na siya ha pagpanaw. Ampa siya liming pa taykuran niya. Kita sin duwa mata niya in babai puti naghalihali ha sawm nunuk.Magtuy siya minuwi pa bay.Siyuysuyan niya in mga panubu niya.”Bunnal tuud awn babai puti ha nunuk yan”, laung hi Sala. Simambung in asawa niya, “Huun,bunnal sayan. Misan in kaibanan nagpakakita ra babai puti yan. Magpakita tuud sila bang damlag.Magpangalay sila ha sawm Nunuk”.

Dain didto ,din a sila magsuuk pa Nunuk.Miyuga na sila na kalukalu manjilaka in tau ha Nunuk. Sampay pa bihaun, pagkakitaan pa sin kaibanan in babai puti.Bissara hi Malli Suwaib, inspector ha Metro Shuttle Bus, na awn magnaug ha bus ha tungod Nunuk.Nagbabadjuh siya puti. Bang manaug ha bus,magtuy siya malawa. Mattan awn tuud babai puti ha Nunuk ha Tacub, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur (as told by Hadji Hadija Saide Ingilan).

The White Lady at the Nunuk Tree 

At olden times, many were wondering on a tree which was very big and tall. This tree was called Nunuk. The people from the forest who were tired from getting cassava would take a rest under this tree.

One day, Sala got woods. The place was quiet. When he passes in front of the Nunuk tree, he felt that there was a lady under the tree but he did not mind this. He continued walking. Then he turned to his back. He saw with his two eyes the white lady resting under the Nunuk tree. He immediately went home. He told his family. “It is really true that there is a white lady in that Nunuk”, Sala said. His wife answered, “Yes, that’s true. Even some people saw that White Lady. They are usually seen in full moon. They danced under the Nunuk tree”.

Since then,they did not go near the Nunuk. They were afraid that the creature might harm them. Until now, others are still seeing the White Lady. Malli Suwaib said, Inspector of the Metro Shuttle Bus that there was someone who rode-off in the bus infront of the Nunuk tree. She was wearing a white dress. If she gets down in the bus, she suddenly disappears. Indeed,there is a White Lady at the Nunuk tree at Tacub,Santa Cruz,Davao del Sur ( translated by Ingilan, 2008).
