The article showed how the author, Mr. Ingilan, handled engineering students. The author stated how hard, for the other professors, to handle modern students. He also give hints and suggestions in order to keep good relationship with his 'babies' until the end of their years in USeP and advocate more excellence in adapting through fast-moving modernization rather than straining through the old teaching strategies which is both beneficial to students and teachers. I really agree about the author's vision that in order to make a student lend an ear, you must have the controlling voice, too. Not all students, including me, prefer 100 cups of notes to swallow by brain but rather, a continuous flow of knowledge from basics to difficult skills which easily enters the half-emptied bottle (our brains) through a funnel with wide opening (teacher's variable techniques in teaching)which is more encouraging than to read our depressing too-worn-out notebook.

  2. The article shows how English professor, Mr. Sajed Ingilan, deals with Engineering students as he teaches them how to become more comprehensive in the English language. Creative, lively and wonderful yet effective, that is how he teaches us the English subject. Despite the "messy" setting of every classrooms of the Engineering department, he can make a steady relation between his students and him. Neglecting the setting, I can foresee that the student can learn well with the way he teach. Though there are instances that student has the tendency to find flaws in him and make fun of it(which also includes a very guilty me...*sigh*), he doesn't mind anything about it and continues on teaching students with ease. Thus, I regard him as one of the great teachers that I have encountered with.

On the other hand, not all teachers are perfect. Each has their own way of delivering thoughts and ideas to the whole class. I just hope that in thinking of strategies of rendering teachings to us students, they would include an approach on how they will establish a positive bond with their students. In that way, teaching and learning will be FUN.

    1. That's normal, Clark. Teachers are always the center of controversy in the class. They are the actors, they are the players...good players shall I say.

    2. Warm environment, two electric fans in a room (one that is usually defective), dusty floors, wobbly chairs, gloomy building, and stinky toilets... Name it and we have it in the College of Engineering! We have a seriously uninspiring environment in this college. Therefore, what we need is a Superman who'll save the humankind in this horrible scene!
I really do think that every TTH, I start my day right. That’s because my first subject in the morning is English and my professor is very motivating. Reading the article, the line: “I have never uttered bad words about the scenario” made me think once, twice, thrice… HOW DID HE DO IT? Yes, for me not pronouncing bad words about the scenario is definitely one tough task. Anyway, thanks to sir, at least there is one time that I could set my mind off from all the stressful surroundings, equations, formulas and engineering stuffs. He, from my point of view, also has an organized class management. Teachers should move on from the boring tell-tale traditional discussions. We’re in the 21st century! We want application and interaction! Who would want a teacher talking to the board? No one. That is why I very appreciate how Sir Sajed creates a rapport with us but also keeping a professional relationship.
As a student, I’m expecting that my teachers will help me get away from my kryptonite. I do hope that all teachers will enter the room with an alluring aura, provoking voice, and smiling face like Sir Sajed. However, since teachers have their own different ways, we can’t do anything about it but to accept that fact.

In my own point of view, the author, Mr. Ingilan, talks about “how” and “what” commonly happens in teaching of English Subject to Engineering Student. Well, the topic deals with what the struggles of the instructors to what they have to go through(for New Hired Teachers) and what the author had gone through the struggles like the “not-so-good” facilities, to how to cope up the new gerenation of student due to the fast changing environment and how to interact the students to have a “student-teacher” relationship. The author didn’t think about the messy room or “ancient” things as hindrances to be able to teach to become excellent in life. Despite the “not-so-good” facilities, as to the what I have read, the facilities doesn’t define to what students can achieve. Mr. Ingilan can easily relate to what the new generation students think and talk about that enables him to create a bond with the students. This bond serve as the way to communicate with each other that enables Mr. Ingilan to pass his wisdom and knowledge to students to be prepared in the coming future. Even though Mr. Ingilan is fare person though he gives small ratings to some students, he gives it to him/her because he/she derserves it. In regards with this, the student doesn’t really hold grudges or have hatred towards sir, because he always does his work promptly and properly that makes us understand the topic even more that influences us to do things at a new level. He even relates the topic through real life encounters. For me, he is one of the best instructor so far, even though at a short period of time, I can see that he is one of kind instructor. I personally salute you sir. :D

The article states the hurdles a teacher (Mr. Sajed Ingilan) has to endure in teaching Engineering students. He also gave methods on how to get past these said hurdles.

For me, it's not just true to USeP but also in school that thrive on the support of the government and even on some privately-owned schools.

Back in my elementary days, we had the same situations: crowded classrooms, broken chairs and tables, faded chalkboards, etc. But this did not stop us from learning and upon reaching high school, we are even more proficient than those who graduated from private schools.

My point is, it's not always about the "state-of-the-art" facilities(but, yes, it helps A LOT if it is). It's more about the teacher's instruction and the students' interaction.

There's no doubt that the author started with negative things that can be experienced in USEP, like the messy rooms, noisy students, etc. But the "and-i-do-not-regret" part took it to be somehow, inspiring.

I was quite surprised about how the students had their english class in the chemistry laboratory years. And I believe, it's still happening now. But as to how the author said, it only manifested that USEP students, not only from the college of engineering but also from the other departments, can always adjust themselves because they have one thing in common - they want to keep moving forward. For USEP students, the kind of environment they have might affect them, but not much to make them stop learning. Negative things are being converted into positive ones.

The author encounters one of the many factors teachers hate - the noise. I see his ways of being smooth towards his students at the same time, in control. Some would say students must adjust to please their professors. But for the author, both should be equated equally, in a manner that both the teacher and the students learn from each other. The author manages to make the "noise" from being a negative factor to a positive one in a form it being the student's way of cooperation. Maybe, it is done through lots of discussions that should not always be serious (the main reason, for me, why a class can be considered to be boring, so less efficient for learning). For the author, relating their english lessons to the everyday living of the students can encourage them to cooperate thus, can help them learn a lot.

From what I had read and understood on the article, Mr. Ingilan, the author had handled the engineering student for quite a time. He knows the pros and cons on teaching on the engineering building and has the patience and tenacity to still try to teach us. He explained that the environment is not a hindrance in teaching and it can be viewed as a challenge to those who teach.
He also really accepted the USEP as what it is and not for what it looks. It really is hard for a professor to adapt to the environment as well as to the students themselves.
He also stated the noise in the College of Engineering. So instead of he talks to the students with their lingo and establish a good relationship with them. That is one of the important things a teacher must do to his/her student, to develop a bond with them.
And lastly, he really accepted the challenge to teach us engineering students even though it really is quite a hurdle to overcome.

And yes, I can really say that I learned a lot through the activites which are not boring

Messy classrooms, many and noisy students are common problems that can be concurred in the COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING building. Yes, I indomitably agree with the statement. Teachers handling engineering students could find hassles and troubles about the learning environment but so good to be true, Mr. Ingilan survived and don't find regret with his experiences and still dedicated to his service as a stupendous English teacher.
How Mr. Sajed interacts with his students is an ideal way to find a good teacher-student relationship. My concern is that engineering students could be naughty most of the times but I found them serious with their studies and dealing with contemplative matters.
Being used to the blusterous environment means subsistence and patience, and i admire those individuals who withstand the stay. At the end of the day, after classes, what is important is that I learned not just grammar lessons, communicating skills, and arithmetic problems; but also I learned that everyday, as an engineering student I am a SURVIVOR!

Humid classrooms, filthy restrooms, old armchairs, and limited equipment. We can't deny the fact that USeP has inferior facilities compared to other universities. Most of the time, the environment affects the learning capacity of a person ; therefore there is a tendency for the students to loose interest in studying. Surprisingly, USeP became the top 5 university in the Philippines, plus producing students who top the borad exam despite lacking resources that the students needs. This baffled my mind, including my classmates' minds 3 years ago, that a school which is lacking resources can be one of the top schools in the Philippines. But now, Mr. Ingilan's article enlightened me that it's not the facilities of the school that matter, but the learning the student acquires from the teachers and the hard work and motivation the person has.

I praise Mr. Ingilan's patience and perseverance in giving his service to his Alma Matter and his contemporary teaching strategies that creates a student-teacher relationship. This, however, is not showing inferiority to the student but a way to get the students' attention and interest in order for the latter to unleash their potential. The said strategy is very effective among engineering students, especially for ME 1-1 which is considered the noisiest section of all the first year engineering sections. With regards to neophyte teachers, I think they only need enough time to adapt. But in the mean time, they should understand USeP's situation.

One thing that can't be denied with USEP is it's poor facilities. Hindrance it may be to the students and the instructors, but the author that is also an instructor wasn't that affected with this fact.
The article really speaks about the truth with the people behind the College of Engineering Building. Teaching really doesn't just end with writing on the board, giving instructions, and giving grades. It is also a matter of treating your students in a good way that they would also love your way. It was even clearly stated how poor are the facilities. It would also affect on how the instructor would handle the problem. If one would let the problem affect oneself, it would be really a hindrance for the learning. With the author's way, the student wouldn't really think of that. The article is an eye opener specially to new ones and to those who haven't experienced the life in that building.
Not all instructors are being set as inspiration to students. Also not all instructors would be treated god by the students specially if the instructor failed the. But with Mr. Sajed's way of handling his students, no doubt that his students would still have a good treatment with him. With that, I salute you Sir.

From the article I have read I believe the author, Mr. Sajid S. Ingilan, has created his own technique on how to neglect the poor facilities of Engineering Department and focus on how he could educate his student. Mr. Ingilan within the four corners of the room is a professor but beyond those corners he is a friend to us. He makes every class discussion entertaining and bubbly making us neglect how hot the temperature is since our class starts at 7:00am. Every time he walks in there is a certain aura that says “This will be fun” maybe because he always ware a smile on his face or maybe because his personality is just likable.
Engineering is a tough course but because of the English Subject we are able to spend an hour or more having fun. Mr. Sajid Ingilan would be a great role model to those who are new to the institution cause he find ways (BDO) to make something out of nothing. Mr. Ingilan truly did his career right especially all the positives and negatives it may brought.

In my opinion, I could say most of the things that the author said about the College of Engineering and about teaching there were probably the opinions of students and other teachers or instructors as well.
The idea that the other people from the College of Engineering share a common experience provides the author and his students to be in a nice relationship even though students usually despise their teacher for giving them low grades. Given this, The author's hindrance of teaching with poor facilities doesn't matter anymore, a good learning environment is what the author makes through his good influence over the learners giving him an advantage over the fact that he teaches in "ancient" rooms. Though I can't agree about one thing though, it's the statement about noise with dota, basketball and 'cartoons' as the subject, by cartoons maybe the author means 'anime' which are totally different, people commonly make this mistake and yes I am completely aware that this is off topic but i know i must express myself in some way. Other than what i have mentioned maybe about the students being +50 and somewhat, well, from what I can see from us ece students, we'll probably take some time to reach that number.
The author's resolve in his teaching is really strong neglecting the fact that there are challenges that hinder him from teaching in the College of Engineering. I respect and salute the author's never ending determination in his quest to share his knowlege to his students.

From the article given, the author Mr. Sajed Ingilan started by stating the negative things, poor facilities, and how hard for the professors to handle students.

Having a not so good environment or classrooms and poor facilities may be an additional challenge for all the professors because students would also be affected by it. As a student, by choosing to study in USEP, we should know that USEP can't afford that much and USEP has a poor facilities. But, we should always remember that negative things shouldn't be a hindrance in learning, instead, we should convert it to positive one.

I was also inspired by how the author handled his students, in a way that he is also building and establishing a relationship with his students. Also, the way the teacher neglects the poor facilities of Engineering Department and just think of how to help the students learn with that environment. The author is also very good in thinking different strategies that would sustain the needs and wants of the learners and how he handled the noise of the students. By being brilliant of Mr. Sajed Ingilan, the students will surely have fun and enjoy learning the subject.

"Messy rooms, noisy students, big number of students." , the first sentence of the article purely describes College of Engineering and the last sentence of the first paragraph purely describes a Professor.

Teaching is a hard career, having patience and passion in your field of work is one of the qualities a good teacher must have and I found it in our English teacher Mr. Sajed Ingilan. Mr. Sajed has his own strategies and styles in teaching his students, well I can say I am impress of this techniques. I can really say it because his teaching strategies makes our class productive and not boring. Mr. Sajed says jokes and gives inspiring advice to his students that would make him and his students in a good relationship. I like the way he discuss his lessons with his joyful aura and I also like the way he interacts with his students. I also like the way he replies his students about the issues of USeP just like "This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this a challenge", by this statement I can see that he is an optimistic person which helps students to change their negative visions.

I agree in what the writer says in the last paragraph "Yes, it is a tiring task, but at the end of the day, you will be happy as you hear your students saying, 'Thank you Sir. We learned a lot through your activities which are not boring' ". I am not a teacher and didn't experience yet what is the feeling when you're student's says Thank You but I can see it in Mr. Sajed's face that he is really happy.

Not all teachers of the University of the Southeastern Philippines do have patience, not like author Mr. Sajed Ingilan. Newly hired teacher thought that it is difficult to teach engineering students but in his part, he took it as a challenge. Despite of the poor facilities, he doesn't mind it as a hindrance and managed to teach and give the demands of his learners. Finding new texts and techniques to teach and socialize to students makes him an excellent and brilliant instructor. He also have this strategy to call the attention of those students who are not listening to his discussions. Giving fun and interesting activities makes his subject not boring.

I agree with taking USEP as a challenge, this is not a private school and it is difficult to be qualified as a top university, I don't care about the facilities. All that matters to me is the quality education USEP gave to it's students.

  17. Teaching has never been easy.

This is the reason why I admire Sir Sajed Ingilan`s perseverance in handling the so-called `difficult to handle` Engineering students.

Even I, as a student, found the noise, the classrooms, and the mess uncomfortable at first. But as time passes by, I was able to realize that it is the excellent quality of education that defines the University of Southeastern Philippines itself. And we all know who are those people who contribute greatly to USeP`s excellence - our teachers.

I agree with Sir Sajed`s way of using his voice to capture his students attention because sometimes it cannot be avoided that students may shift their focus to various distractions in the classrooms like the vandalisms written on the armchairs. We will not graduate and become the professionals we dream to be because of the classrooms we have. It is because of how we have gained knowledge during our college days.

I also agree with Sir`s way of interacting with his students because I believe that students who are in good relations with their teachers will listen eagerly because they are comfortable with one another. There are times in which we need to be serious and there are also times in which we can enjoy while learning, just like what Sir Sajed does in our class.

As the passage goes, it is all about the challenges of teaching engineering students. The author brought me into his point of view on his daily life teaching these students. It's really difficult to imagine how to handle them in their not-so-conducive learning environment but in his ways, it's like it's just a walk in the park. I am thunderstrucked that he managed to bridge students to learning despite of many factors affecting them. Teaching engineering students in USEP is like playing Torchlight II in elite hardcore mode, but to Mr. Ingilan it's just like playing it in easy mode. All of these are because of his persistence, his will and his expertise on how to employ excellent teaching strategies.

I believe that it is not that easy to teach a huge number of students at the College of Engineering, also because of the messy rooms and noisy students. With regards to this, I awe Sir. Sajed, who have handle English for five years without any regrets. Though there are many issues and problems faced in handling engineering students still Mr. Sajed able to provide the quality education that we the students must get. As I have read the article, the line “This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this as a challenge” is the line that reminds me of my board mate which is also a graduate from this university, telling us that, it will not be called USEP if the facilities are very good like on private schools, the fact is, facilities doesn’t matter anymore but the lessons that we could get out of this, the values of being patient.Yes, it is very obvious having messy rooms at C.E. but this is USEP, indeed, the producer of very good and competitive products.

In the other hand, I like the way sir. build GOOD relationship on us as his students. In fact, during our discussions, Sir. Sadjed never failed to make us laugh and ofcourse never failed in giving us new learnings at the end of our discussion.

Many students kept on saying “terror kayo ang mga prof” maybe they were right, but Mr. Sadjed made everyone of us realized that making friends with our profs. And putting away the gaps and tensions between us is VERY POSIBLE. :)

Teaching your students is a tiring task indeed, especially if the resources that are keys to effective teaching are limited. It is because our government has given our university meager budget for the maintenance of our facilities. As a result, we have untidy rooms, unrepaired chairs and many more. Let us also include the noisy students. I’m not new to this situation because I have graduated in a public high school which has the same environment as USEP. And I can really relate to these circumstances.

The article tells us that despite the lack of resources, we should adjust to the environment we are currently in. This is now college life, not high school which spoon-feeds us what we need. As what other students pursuing a degree in USEP say, “USEPians are like BDO, we find ways”. We should be able to continue learning regardless of the poor setting. Mr. Ingilan’s strategy in handling engineering students is quite impressive. Although we are noisy during his class, he can still manage to make us listen to his discussions. He has excellent strategies to be able to build good relationship to us, and be able to sustain what we need to know more.

We should thank people like Mr. Ingilan because despite of the hot and untidy environment of the engineering department, he still enters our room to share his knowledge in order to develop our study and thinking skills. “Thank you sir, for becoming a mentor and a part of my college life".

  23. Man encounters different situations in life and many factors that makes man disappointed on that situations. But on the case of Mr. Sajed it is not, but instead he used these as an advantage to handle the very good students of the college of engineering, and these also the things that Sir Sajed want to teach to us. That we must be patient, disciplined, aware, humble, down to earth, to be a good listener, to be a good learner, then Sir also want to teach us on how to develop our adaptation skills that despite of the bad conditions, the presence of mind are still there to handle and make the situation successful and that's what Sir Sajed Ingilan shares to us through this text and I am very agree to his procedures.

And for the part of us students we must be respectful of our teachers, because it is not an easy thing to them to handle us. Imagine how many things, moments, and wants that our teachers sacrificed? Many! So we must be thankful to them despite of those things they choose us to share their knowledge for that we can learn.

Then now the question is how can we show that respect? The answer is we must cooperate, having good relation to them is a big thing.

Finally, Sir thank you for your full effort in handling us, and making us as a good student, and Sir God may bless you.

  25. Teaching is not as easy as ABC or 123. It takes a lot of experiences to be efficient the field.

Firstly, I came from a private school. When i first met the environment of USEP, i was shocked. As in culture shocked. Because of the facilities, classroom, not so good powder rooms and electric fans that are defective. Many classmate of mine back in highschool says that "Unsa manang USEP oy, pangit facilities". When i hear those things from my past classmate, i didn't take it as a hindrance for choosing USEP as my first choice among other school.

Secondly, I am very happy that now a days, student-teacher relationship is very strong. Unlike on the "Ancient" days, teachers were very moody and are hard to interact to because of how far students from teachers. It is very important to have this closeness but also students must not be abusive on it. Because it may be the cause of tragedy or achieving "The so called 3.0. hahahaha"

The article strongly implies that it is not on how old the facilities are, but it dwells on how motivated are you to get to the top.

I salute you Sir Sajed! :)

Honestly, with no intentions of bringing a bad impression to the university, USeP has low quality rooms and facilities; but that does not become a hindrance to our schooling. I believe that both our English teacher and his students do not consider this as some wall in our path to success. USeP gives quality education, not very high-quality facilities. So as a result, our English teacher does not mind this in the school. Instead, he uses alternate ways of sharing his knowledge with the students, like activities, quizzes(yes, this is acceptable), and some online homework.

Through these alternatives, he became quite popular and well-known to his students.I read about a part in where Sir Sajed noted the noise of the engineering students. I can tell that our English teacher believes in the saying, "If you can't beat them, join them." Yes, I am also quite aware that us engineering students are very noisy or shall I say, "full of spirit." After reading this part of the text, I can say that he used some of the experiences during his college life and has put it into good use. He knows how to handle teenagers like us because he's already been there, and perhaps he has also experienced this. Even if he has been giving some students low grades, he still a friend to engineering students.

Overall, Mr. Sajed Ingilan is a really good professor. He knows his way around USeP, and he uses the experiences he had during his college years to his advantage. Well, I also believe with what my co-engineering schoolmate said: "USePians are like
    BDO, we find ways."

Teaching is both a profession and your passion. It takes a lot of hard work, plenty of skills, bountiful knowledge, and of course a lot of patience to be able to teach your students effectively.

Teaching environment may be a factor in achieving a pleasant educational room, but as the author have said in this article “This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this as a challenge”. Yes, teaching in a messy room with all those noises outside may trouble our teachers a little, but still, our teachers can handle it well enough as I have observed.

Well, I think if the teacher is focused enough on teaching he can still teach effectively by utilizing the available resources and neglecting other distractions that may trouble him and affect his teaching.

It is a challenge for the teachers to handle such students like the engineering. It takes Professionalism to teach them and give them knowledge and understanding about the lessons that the teachers have taught. For me Sir Sajed is one of those teachers who shows professionalism and Hard work on his career as a teacher in USEP. He knows how to handle students especially the engineering students.

For me i agree that teachers should make their teaching not as a punishment but as a challenge in their Life.

  29. The article portrays the scenario about the relationship between the professors, students, and the environment in the College of Engineering. Yes, I agree with the statement that one of the worst departments in USeP is the College of Engineering since majority of the students are men but the individual students have the logic and mental ability to qualify them in the courses they take. In addition, the university is not that competitive in terms of facilities that are why students have the limitations in laboratories and hands on activities.

However, the professors are very skillful and talented to relay the the lessons with their own way of teaching seldom using facilities. One of them is our English professor, Mr.Ingilan who rarely uses the chalkboard in teaching. He also relates all the lessons to the situations that the students are encountering nowadays that is why we have fun in our English class. This way of teaching motivates those students to be attentive and participate in class.

So for me, in University of Southeastern Philippines, it is the professors and student's skills, talents, and creativity making the statement "Facilities and environment is not a hindrance to success." true. Determination and motivation is a tool in overcoming the obstacles present in the university.

This article also serve as an eye opener to the students making them realizes that it is not easy to be a professor, so we must respect them.

I would like to thank Mr. Ingilan not only for the lessons but also for the patience he gave in our class.

  30. Educating a numerous Engineering students is indeed not easy. There are a lot of hindrances that disables the students to listen to the teacher. It is without a doubt that USeP is poorly facilitated. And that environment affects the learning of the students. Moreover, the deafening voices of the students outside the rooms. But the author, Mr. Sajed Ingilan is truly amusing for handling his students.

Mr. Ingilan took those hindrances as a challenge to teach the students for the betterment of their learning. He used strategies to cope with the students’ needs and wants and establishes a good relationship with them. He is amazingly systematic with the way he educate his students. Having a teacher like him in the university will make all the students in USeP brighter for sure. He is indeed a role model to the other teachers that the poor facility of the university and the enormous number of students should not affect their teaching. Mr. Sajed Ingilan, you’re a great educator!

As what I have read, the author, Mr. Ingilan, shows patience in handling the engineering students. Although it’s hard for him to deal with that kind of situation, (messy rooms, large population of students, old chairs and tables) he still continues to teach the students despite of the surroundings. For me, Mr. Ingilan’s style of teaching is more profitable since both teacher and students can benefit from it. I prefer his style of teaching since it’s unique and not cliché.

Teaching the new generation of students should be unique if you don’t want them to get bored. Using different kinds of activities to catch their attention is more educational and more enjoyable. It’s more educational since the students can focus on listening to the teacher more than the old style of taking down notes. It’s because students tend to focus on the notes that they need to copy that’s why they cannot focus on the discussion anymore. It’s more enjoyable since both the teacher and the students enjoy the discussion going on since everyone can participate well. They tend to share their ideas that help them to know more about each other and help them to socialize with others.

Teaching shouldn't be done just for work, it should be for PASSION. A good teacher knows how to deal with his/her students attitudes, knows their capabilities and how to enhance them. They don’t build a barrier towards their students. Instead, they treat them as a friend that strengthens the bond between them. That’s the kind of professor Mr. Ingilan is. He teaches his students despite of the poor facilities since he wants to share what he knows to others. He’s the kind of professor whom you can talk to during problems. I’m proud say that he’s my teacher.

  34. Our english professor, Mr. Sajed Ingilan, handles engineering students well. Upon handling his subject, he was able to make his students to think critically, evaluate, sythesize, and analyze his lessons to develop comprehension and analysis with regards to english subject and he was able to relate the lessons to each student through different learning strategies, humors and analogies. He was also able to have a good relationship between the student and him which makes the learning effective and efficient. As what I observed, there are students that approach Mr. Ingilan with regards to lessons or even casual discussions. Thus, he was approachable and not a “terror” teacher. Despite of the irregularities of the classrooms and not so good facilities, he could still develop learnings to his students at the same time maintain a good relationship between him and his students. I hope I would have a good foundation on English 1 which is very vital as we proceed to next english subjects. :)

  35. To be a teacher is not a job , it is a profession. This shows the relationship of the teachers to the students. I agree that USEP has the worst facilities that could ever have and it is hard for the teachers to teach in a dirty, stinky, noisy and messy rooms, because most of the students are men. However the students have their own ways on how to do things in their own ways without any facilities because they have their own knowledge and logic in their minds. For the professors, it is hard for them but they also have their own ways on how to teach the students creatively and not in a boring way.

In general, it is the professionalism of the professors to teach and the intelligence of the students to solve things without any facilities because facilities are just things that can help the student learn, but the most important thing is the knowledge the student gained from their professors. In addition, if the student really wants his/her course, facilities or environment is not a hindrance to the students learning.

A college education never hurts anyone who is willing to learn something afterwards. Meaning, whatever the environment is, if the student is really willing to learn he won't get affected. But even if that's the case a teacher's method of teaching his lessons greatly affects what a student learns from him. However, the author, Mr Sajed Ingilan does his strategies and good practices that makes him a good and effective teacher. I can relate him to the quote "The teacher is like the candle which lights others in consuming itself" because he, as a teacher, consistently do better work for himself and for his students to learn more. Despite the condition us engineering students are in, he still has his ways to be alongside his students to make them comfortable around him and make them more interested on the subject thus, having more students learn from him. A thumbs up for the author Mr. Sajed Ingilan for his work from us students under the college of engineering.

It's the first thing that pop on my mind after I have finished reading the article.I definitely think that teaching isn't as easy as it seems, especially on handling such big number of students.Given those problems that commonly arise at USeP, it's amazing on how some teachers including Mr. Ingilan have managed to somehow deal with those dilemmas, at the same time, making sure the students have acquired learning. The student's noise is probably one of the most common problem.Chitchats from rooms even up to the pathways, particularly on the College of Engineering where the population is quite big compared to the other departments. But its fun though, being able to know that that the author seemed to have this kind of friend or brother relationship with his students.
The last part of the article is something I think that make up the thought of it as a whole, that amidst those things that might bring discouragement to you, take it as a challenge and maybe at the end of the day. .you'll also end up wearing a satisfied smile on your face.

As I read the text above, many realizations came up on my mind just like how really hard being a teacher is. I know that being a teacher is very hard, because I also experienced being a student teacher in my high school days. Being a teacher in USeP is very hard and challenging especially in college in engineering building, because some of the facilities are not quite good (or very bad), and different attitudes of the students in every section. No matter what could be the environment is, as long as you did your best, everything will be alright. Everything is possible if you think it positively. Being a teacher is not only a job, but it is a profession where you can find unexpected things and people in just one classroom, I really appreciate on what you have done to us, because of your teaching style, like fun discussions, and lots of activities. As a student teacher before, and your student this time, you did a great job sir !

  42. The article shows reality. The author, Mr. Ingilan started his blog on the problems in which a professor may encounter if they teach on College of Engineering at USEP. The voice is the key on the road of learning. Without it, people may not learn things. Messy chairs, noise and big numbers of students is not new on the modern world. Being a teacher is not an easy job. It is a profession on which they teach many kinds of students. I agree that there is no way to get rid of the environment other than to take it as a challenge. Getting a good relationship with students is a good strategy to take their attention when the teacher is teaching. Mr. Ingilan gave hints for other professor on how can they handle the C.E. or College of Engineering. The hints he gave could really be a good strategy on teaching. The message that I understand in this article is that whatever things that may affect the learning and the teaching of the professor and the students, they just have to take is as a challenge. And when that challenge has been surpassed or accepted, this things will not be anymore an obstruction on the teaching process of the professors and the learning process of the students.

From the scenario given by Prof. Sajed Ingilan of how he handles an Engineering class with a messy and noisy set-up, I remembered two of my High School teachers. One is Sir Gerson Abelgas who was my Araling Panlipunan II teacher. Same as how Prof. Ingilan catches his men students' attention, Sir Abelgas also creates a conversation about DOTA and all those kind of online gaming. As a result, the men students participate loudly on the discussion. (According to Sir, there were some settings of the game related to the study of History.) So, that's how adaptation to the modern trends work. Second is Sir Wyrlo Ferrando. He was my Mathematics teacher way back in my Fourth Year HS. Similar to Mr. Ingilan, he starts the class with simple conversations of 'Musta namu?' and some sharing. I even remembered what he said that a teacher must be PASIKAT in order to catch everybody's attention. I guess that what makes a worth-remembering knowledge bestower, someone who reaches, touches & inspires.

I reflected from the scenario that an effective, competent and committed teacher does not mind who will be his/her students or how will the class be because he is more concern on how he will inherit his knowledge to those who need it. And when things gets worst, a wise teacher thinks of a way on how he will be able to control the situation and is always ready of his Plan B - Plan Z.

Of all the good characteristics an effective teacher must have, Mr. Sajed Ingilan exhibited everything. Of course, what do you expect from a Magna Cum Laude and a world class teacher? the BEST,right? No doubt why we students love have a discourse with you Sir. And no doubt that we are very fortunate to have you as our teacher.

  44. For me teaching engineering students is very hard task. you will need a lot of patience in order to teach them well. In the article it says that the college of engineering was surely lacking of facilities specially in classrooms, most of it was the chairs and the blackboard. But for me, even though that the facilities was not good but i would consider the quality of teaching that they had.Engineering students was so noisy specially boys, but they can easily cooperate with their teachers. In the article we can conclude that engineering students was so many, they are about 50/class that gives a major headache for the teachers. Sometimes other students listen to their teacher but mostly don't because they cannot understand what the teacher is teaching. The article shoes the reality of what USEP life is. Overall, the article represent the thoughs of the student studying here in USEP and it tells about the learning process of the college of engineering.......

But then again all we need is to adjust. all the struggles are very common we can all surpass it if we would, maybe some of this could affect us, but as long as there would be a discipline, cooperation, willingness to learn and respect in each of us, it can help us to neglect the factors that Mr.Sajed had experienced. For me I am very vow to Mr. Sajed of what he had done to survive and very well handled on what could be the possible life in the way he teach in college of engineering.

As a freshman student in this institution, the problems stated in the text are not new to me, since I have been in the same situation during my high school days. As to USeP, though the facilities are not that good especially in the Engineering Building, the students and professors should not be bothered by this hindrance, especially that this will be our training ground for the profession we want to have in the near future, hopefully.

Based on the author's experience, this learning will be a rough journey for all of us, for what we are facing now is the reality that not all places in the world will give you so much comfort, and this will test our capability to handle ourselves in this situation that will make us a better person.

Mr. Sajed Ingilan, the author, and also our teacher, is honest about his opinions and experiences since we too have experienced what a great teacher he is. English is the most boring subject for me, but that mindset has been changed by him. Students in the College of Engineering knows about the facts of this school, messy classrooms, pale painted walls, very warm environment, electric fan deficiency, what would we expect from a government based university? But in contrast, teachers from this university had produced globally competitive students. Teachers like Sir Sajed are one that I like most. Despite of the problems in the school, they would not let themselves be affected, yet gives them a very challenging task.

When Sir Sajed first enter our classroom in the first day of class, I admire him for being an optimistic person. He continues to teach us even though the teasing of my stubborn seatmates takes place about his accent and his movements. It makes my blood boil because I hate those who like to tease and tease without looking in themselves! But instead of being angry to those morons, he just smiles and continue to his discussion.

That’s why I SALUTE to the teachers like Sir Sajed!

  49. This article is all about how the author experienced teaching English to engineering students, at first, you could say that it would be a hellish experience for the professors to teach them because of the “messy rooms, chairs, and tables in the rooms are ancient” as stated by the author. I agree to the statement of the author that “This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this a challenge”, even if we have a untidy or a ancient classroom, we could still learn but in a |”little bit” hard way. It is really a good way to communicate with your students properly and sometimes join in their conversations so you could be close to the students and it will be easy to instruct them on what you want them to do in your class because there are cases that when a student is not in acquaintance with the professor/instructor, backstabbing and being obedient sometimes occur. I also agree with the statement that “you should be brilliant in employing teaching strategies in order to get the attention of these students, in order for them to learn” because if you aren’t equipped with this skill, there is a tendency that you will not have a smooth run in teaching the students.

  50. From what I have read, the article shows the reality of teaching in USEP. Messy and unorganized class rooms, large number of noisy students, and few functioning facilities are just some of the problems that the author, MR. Sajed, encountered. However, these problems did not stop Mr. Sajed in teaching students. Instead of having a boring class, he came up with ways and strategies to make class and the discussions more interesting. He made ways for students to disregard the messy surrounding and focus on the topic being discussed. He did not let anything stop him from doing what he does best, and that is teaching.

The author, Mr. Sajed, is also our professor in English, and we, his technology students, encountered the same things, messy rooms, filthy and stinky bathrooms, and noisy students. Studying is hard, especially if you have an unpleasant learning environment, but because of Mr. Sajed's teaching techniques, we were able to adapt to the surroundings around us and continue on studying. The problems we encountered did not stop us from learning, because if it did, I wouldn't be able to write this insight about his teachings. Although there is so many hindrances in acquiring quality education. One of those are low facility rate to be used so that
we can enhance more the learning development of a learner according to its environment itself.

Compared to other schools they have the capability to mold their students and make them even more productive.
But as they say so, USeP wouldn't mind that, as long as they know that they can strive more for the betterment of their school.

Messy classrooms, smelly comfort rooms, and defected teaching apparatuses in the classrooms, yet Sir Sajed has found a way to teach in a clear and fun way. Indeed, most of the students at engineering are men and Sir Sajed, also being a man, points out topics that we understand and could relate to making learning more fun and enjoying. At times when we become noisy, he would also add up to the noise and then we'd start to be silent and listen to what punch line Sir Sajed has to say, a very effective way of shutting us up and making us listen with your jokes :D
The type of professor he is, is one of the best professors in teaching out there. Because of his way of teaching makes us understand clearly what he wants to say.

I agree that the fifth floor is really very tiring to walk, and yes, aside from the ancient and rotten facilities, "daghan jud board passers diri," and has become successful men and women.

How ever, these problems are the one that Sir Sajed getting strength in teaching the Engineering student's. Even these problem's are big he has a solution and strategy to solve this problem's. 58. College of Engineering. At first, I thought that this college has the modern and high technology facilities because from the word "engineering", we can infer that this college might be a modernized one. But, when I become a freshmen in this college, I realized that being a top university in the Philippines doesn't about the great facilities of the school but what matters the most is the learning of the students. That's why, in the text, the author, Mr.Sajed S. Ingilan did not take those deficits as a hindrance in learning or a problem in teaching but he takes it as a challenge for him to think some strategies on how to deal with it.

I agree that messy classrooms can really affect the learning of the students because you cannot concentrate and focus on the discussions if your surrounding is uncomfortable to stay. But, the author use techniques to get the attention of the students and for me, it is very effective. Also, he cracks some jokes in order for the students to enjoy and not be bored during the discussions. With those things, students can really appreciate and learn even if there are some problems regarding the facilities of the school.

It also tackles how should teachers/professors cope with these various instances to avoid pupil-teacher relationship bond breakdown. I agree with the author's perspectives that professors must cope with the students through new strategies in gaining student's attention towards the lesson. It is because of the mentality of a student that if the teacher cannot approach the student then the objective of a teacher towards the students fails.

  61. This article is all about how the author experienced teaching English to engineering students also industrial technology students. Yeah teachers are there do teach us, But teachers are really doesn't just end with writing on the board, giving instructions, and giving grades. It is also a matter of treating your students in a good way that they would also love your way but it is a bonus when a teacher give their love to his/her students, But teaching with a several of a noisy students to the messy classrooms or ancient classroom is hard, Because USeP are lack of facilities and equipment, and that is the fact that we cannot denied it and that does not become a hindrance to our schooling, like as the author Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan has said in the article “ This is USeP, But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this as a challenge”. Teaching in a messy room with all those noises outside may trouble our teachers a little, but still, our English teacher Sir. Sajed S. Ingilan can handle it well enough as I have observed and we're thankful that sir Sajed is patience to teach us well even we are naughty or defiant student and I'm proud that sir Sajed is our English teacher, and we will hope that we learn from his teaching.

  62. As what I have read in the article of Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan, the hurdle that he encounter is not a base for him to loose hope for us engineering students. The environment of College in Engineering (CE) is not capable for teachers especially Mr. Sajed to have a boring and tiring class, that's what i learned from the article above. Its not about the floor, chairs or etc. but its about the teachers and the students. The strategies of the teachers and the wants of the students to learn.
As i encounter Mr. Sajed i can say that he is not like others, his unique and interesting. I don't find Mr. Sajed class boring at all. His good and friendly, he share ideas base in his experience and that's what i like most. He gives knowledge that we cant repay, a knowledge that is not about English subject but about the moral values of each one of us.
Keep it up Sir. Your a good teacher.

  63. Well , it is clear in the text that our English professor handles his Engineering students in a positive and intelligent way. He is actually right on how he describe the College of Engineering bldg. You know what they say, "do not take problem as a problem, instead make it as an inspiration to go onward" and that's what he did. He still continues with his passion which is teaching no matter what comes his way.The fact that this school is one of the best schools in the Philippines makes him more enthusiast to teach. I salute him with this "Since 2008, I have never uttered bad words about the scenario because I know that this is USEP."

He's also sensitive with our feelings and that is why he shares stories with us, he knows that we don't want to have a boring day. He's still young(ayiee) that's why he use to get along with us. Well, that's one of the tasks of teachers actually, to give students enjoyment while learning.

It is our responsibility as a student to show respect even how terror that teacher is or how low the grades that teacher gives.

I know that these challenges will not end up here, there's a lot of struggles that will come but these can't break our determination and perseverance in maintaining this school as one of the BEST schools nationwide.

Straight to the point class rooms in engineering building are very messy and sometimes I ask myself is this engineering building? Because circuits and outlets are not properly intact. But I realize for the passed years this building had produced countless professional graduates. I conclude that class rooms and facilities are not only the basis for effective learning but it is on how students adopt the environment and challenge themselves to learn. It is true also true that we, students must exert effort to learn and leave to teachers the rest. Sir Sajed exert his effort to teach us and help us understand the lessons. He introduce new ideas and updates about his subject. His strategies works. You are learning at the same time you are having fun. For me teaching is effective when students are not bored and sleepy.I don't like English but now I learned that it is not boring.

  65. Before reading this site, I'm already amazed of how great Sir Sajed was. Knowing his situation as a teacher it makes us feel valued as his students. The good thing about him is that he tends to be our common friend, sharing thoughts with our topic such as our hobbies and so on. Another is that, I like the way how he handle our class. He's the first one I've ever known that makes the activity more interactive and fun. Despite of the obstacles on teaching us, Sir Sajed still continue to teach us.

Learning while having fun is sir's technique to make our discussion more interactive which is very effective. I also appreciate how patient sir is. For about 5 years of teaching, he never reacted to the University but instead he find a way on how to effectively share his learning to us his students.

Indeed, sir is very amazing from the article itself. Were very blessed having a good FRIEND and MENTOR like you sir.

The first time I heard the name of the school University of Southeastern Philippines, I suddenly thought that this school is as well as the University of the Philippines, and when I entered in USEP, it did not disappoint me. We can never deny that once a "government school" its facilities is not well as the private schools. However, you can never imagine why USEP is one of the top five universities in our country, and that what's I love.

Though the facilities of the College of Engineering is not as well as others but the learning's you can acquire is incomparable. This is because of the dynamic way of teaching of the faculty. It's also true that it is difficult to handle a class with disappointing materials and it is hard for us students to learn but that's not the reason should we not. Although the facilities can be quite disappointing, teachers are taking it as a challenge and takes it in a positive way. It's not an interference for a student to learn and a teacher to teach.

I salute Sir Sajed for his perseverance, long patience and his different strategies to teach us. He knows how to handle the class in not a dull way otherwise he handles it in a witty way. He has his jokes which makes us laugh, his way of speaking that amuses us, and his knowledge that struck us. Though Sir Sajed is great to us, we should respect him, not only him but also all the professors, for they are our mentor. They take problems as a challenge and pursue their teaching career with no regrets.

We should also be thankful that we are studying in one of the best schools not only in our country but also in Asia. We have a highly quality of education that makes us proud despite of our facilities. Thumbs up for the teachers teaching here in USEP.

The environment is new to me. Engineering building is populated. Classrooms are messy especially when students drag chairs. It is also noisy in the building. Restrooms are not well maintained by the janitors.
I do not underestimate USEP because we all know a lot of board passers are comming from this University. And I'm so happy to be here. I learned a lot from the professors and sr. Sajed is one of them. Thank you sir. "We learned a lot through your activity which are not boring".

  68. For me in the first place, I know that our English teacher is a good teacher not only in the good way but in the best way. As I read the article I feel so happy for the reason that our teacher is very good in teaching. Making us laugh, making us think that English is as easy as 1 2 3 is sir's masterful technique in teaching us the English subject. Explaining the core meaning of an unfamiliar words or phrases is one of the best technique to teach English and Sir is doing that
    every time we meet .

Being comfortable in front of the students is very important in an English teacher and Sir Sajed possesses that attitude. Sir is very sociable teacher. Sir Sajed answers the student's question like their just friends. He make activities more enjoy so the student will be happy at the same time learning new things in English.

  69. The messy classrooms and the noisy students of the College of Engineering are the common problems of a teacher. Yes, I agree with the author (Sir Sajed) in his article. The College of Engineering building is not conducive for learning because of its environment but Sir Sajed takes this as a challenge. With his experiences and strategies he survive teaching engineering students for five years and still he is dedicated to teach engineering students again.
The strategies of Sir Sajed in teaching are both beneficial to him and to us. Because of his new teaching strategies, joining the students with their conversations and establishing a good relationship with students. Students can easily learn the subject because the students feel that their teacher is with them. And Sir Sajed feels well because the effort he exerts in teaching the lessons in the students is not just a waste of time.
I’m happy because our English teacher is Sir Sajed who makes our English class fun and a time conducive for learning.

The article showed how the author dealt with the life of being a teacher for engineering students. The author stated in the article the consequences that engineering rooms bring like the so called “ancient” chairs where students who are not aware of the chair’s “rusty” attitude get stains on their uniform and the rooms with poor condition. But still, the author stayed and accepted the conditions not only for himself but also for the sake of his beloved students. He also stated that instead of being so strict to his students, he sometimes join and have fun with his students. I really agree to the author’s way and techniques of teaching his riotous engineering students for the students to love and respect him truly. Disciplining the students by using his big, husky voice and orienting them first to listen to him were also good. The way he inspires us to be strong throughout many challenges and to take it as the reason for us to be a better person, is the reason why we truly care and love our beloved teacher, Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan.

  71. Teaching English to Engineering students is one of the task of Mr. Ingilan encountered.
He been handling English at the College of Engineering for five years, and he do not regret.
Even thou the surroundings are not really good he never quit and being dismayed, he use his mighty voice to attract and encourage the students to listen to him. Mr. Ingilan also stated that classroom really affects the learning of the students, and it is now a challenge of his part on how to deal on this issue. Since 2008, he never uttered bad words about the scenario because he know that this is USEP. And finished his undergraduate and graduate degrees from this university so he is very aware of the condition of the classrooms here in USEP”. Mr. Ingilan is one of the most popular teacher in USEP because of his teaching skills and ability that can enhance our knowledge. Because of his love and care he never leave us.

  72. Being a teacher is a very tough profession. They serve as our guide in our studies and also in our real life.

In this article, Sir Sajed shows his ability, being smart and patient. Though problems are there to interrupt the class, he still find ways to get things right. The condition of the classrooms in the engineering building in USEP, as what is said in the article, is true. Messy rooms, rusty chairs and the chalkboards are not in good condition. Like his experience with the English 3 students in 2009. They had their class in the Chemistry Laboratory, fifth floor of the engineering building. It is difficult for him because the room is found at the top of the engineering building and the room is not at its best for learning. We know that it is tiring to go at Chem.Lab. But still, he find ways like encouraging and inspiring the students. He also speaks cool that gets the attention of the students. He also joins us in our discussion with the boys which makes the bond stronger.

Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan is really a good teacher. We could learn a lot of things mostly based on his experiences. We could learn a lot of new terms/vocabularies. The way he utter the words is unique. The way he teach the students is great.

It is a great opportunity for me to be a student of Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan.

  73. In the article, the author cited and stated some of the unwanted and negative scenarios that a teacher encounters at the College of Engineering at the University of Southeastern Philippines. From his experience in teaching engineering students, the chalkboards were not that tempting for a teacher to write and so by that, he seldom uses the chalkboard. As a solution to that case, he would use his voice in order to catch his student's attention. Another hurdle Sir Sajed had also encountered is the noise of students. For him, it is expected that the majority in the engineering department are boys. To overcome or deal with this noise case, especially to the boys, he would sometimes mingle, join, and go with their conversations for them (or "us" shall i say) to feel he's a kind instructor and professor but in a controlled way so that student will not abuse his kindness. As a general conclusion to the text, Sir Sajed Ingilan, despite of the hurdles and negativity of expectations, stands firm and continued in teaching the engineering students. He exemplified that a teacher must not be selfish to share whatever knowledge he or she acquired just because expectations hadn't met. The author always assures that he had set a brilliant style in teaching that would best fit his students' capacity to learn so as to make them alive and more active in participating. I had really felt the worthiness he had felt in teaching in the statement he wrote at the last part of the text.
So for the expansion of worthiness, I, Jason Jalin, student of Sir Sajed Ingilan, therefore wholeheartedly extends my deepest gratitude unto him. He's indeed a good professor!

  74. When I first entered the building of the College of Engineering, I felt regret. Coming from a private school, it was hard for me to adjust to the new environment. The classrooms are messy, the chairs are disorganized, the building is dark and hot, and the facilities are not that good. I had no choice, but to face this scenario everyday. With this kind of environment, it would be hard for the students to learn and for the teachers to teach.

But what surprised me are the teachers' way of teaching. Each of them has their own style for the students to understand the lessons. Some teachers are creative, cool and lively. As for our English professor, Mr. Sajed Ingilan. He may not be each student's ideal teacher, but his way of teaching is effective. Other teachers talk to the board, instead Mr. Ingilan ineracts to the whole class, thus building a student-teacher relationship. In the article about teaching on the college of Engineering, Mr. Sajed states some of the challenges that he has to endure and pass.

He stated the messy rooms which are not really inspiring to use and also more of a distraction in teaching. He says that he mostly uses his voice to get the students' attention. He also says that we should take it as a challenge for us.

Another is the noise of the students. He adapts to it easily by sometimes joining the conversation, thus improving the teacher-student relationship.

I think Sir Sajed is one of the most competent professors to come into USEP, he accepts USEP for what it is, not for what it looks.

Teaching is not an easy job it needs patience and time. I read the article of Mr. Ingilan that tells about teaching English and handling Engineering students. We all know that engineering building is kind of messy and noisy. By the time you enter the building you will realize what is worth to study engineering course.
The author stated how difficult to handle new generation of student, in a situation like this it needs a virtue of patience. One of the strategies that were mention by the author to have a good relationship to the students is controlling their voice and communicates to them. Since I was studying elementary to high school until now I’m always shy to ask questions to my teachers and maybe that strategy of the author in communicating the students may help me to flesh out my thoughts. But still I’m working to socialize to my teachers.
Communicating really affects the learning of the students and the poor facilities, but it cannot stop us from learning. Like here in USEP thou they have poor facility but there are many fine students graduated here in USEP. Learning doesn't matter about the material things but it matters on how it’s applied. What I’m telling is teaching depends on how the teacher applied his/her teaching to the learner and the communication of the teacher towards the students(Vise versa) .

  78. From the article that i have read, Mr. Sajed Ingilan shows us how to manhandle a class which is dominated by men and also by fragile facilities. As what Mr. Sajed Ingilan said men dominates the college so he tends to join them with their conversations about manly manner like DOTA, Basketball and etc. which makes a good relationship between the student and the teacher. I agree with this statement because it makes us student to be more confident with the subject and also with the teacher. As for the facilities, it reminds me of my elementary days when the facilities are not enough and classrooms are crowded. It may also be a hurdle for both students and the teacher but as we know, it is not on the facilities(depends on the situation) that would define learning, it is on the passionate teachers like Mr. Sajed Ingilan and other teachers who tend to sacrifice everything for the sake of education and also diligent students that would give some sort of bright future to our society.

Education faces problems like lack of good facilities and also stubborn students. It is a fact that becoming a teacher is one of the most difficult and serious professions that a person would want in his life. From the moment you chose it, you should be sure of taking it wholeheartedly because what lies in the days ahead will either be accompanied with happiness or regrets. This how i agree with the author's statement "TAKE it or LEAVE it".

It is not easy to handle many students most especially the older ones (college students for instance) since they already do have their own thinking and mindsets to act and decide on their own. It's not even easy to look and teach your students in the same messy and dirty classrooms every day. How the author told his situation describes that teaching in USEP is not an easy job. It requires a certain loyalty and love for your work. The context clearly showed that he is really well enjoying his job. Despite the imperfections he had seen around him, never did it bother and stop him with his passion in teaching. What's good with the author is that the fact that he really is an effective teacher. A teacher is not just a person who teaches but a person who can communicate with his students very well. Sir Ingilan makes his students smile and even if he doesn't demand them to listen, they would listen. Most of all, he has this characteristic of building good bonds with his students which is one good way of developing "friendship" with them.

    HOW TO TEACH ENGINEERING STUDENTS?

Imagine a room with complete and fresh facilities. Imagine a massive student gathering with the same topics and ideas evaluating it as one. What a relief for the teachers would be.
A room with complete structure and appreciable facilities has a great impact to the validity of the students mind to absorb every lesson that a teacher would administer them. According to the text, it is also important for us to feel comfortable to focus on our study. What if your classrooms are lock of facilities? How would your teacher handle it? Don’t be surprise if I will tell you that I’m not new to it, because while it is still loading in your mind, I had been experiencing that particular situation I formerly asked you. I tell you, this is the case of the teachers of engineering in USEP. The text states that the teachers of engineering like Sir Sajed Ingilan should use various technics to encourage the engineering students to focus on their lessons. Since the black boards are not that comfortable to write on, Sir Sajed uses his powerful voice. That technic is very appreciable because the lessons resonates not only in our ears but it flows through our minds also. Although it sounds like a punishment for the teachers, he viewed it as a challenge, and in my own opinion that particular reason made him more tough in the eyes of the students.
For the second situation wherein teachers tend to have a problem on the culture of the students makes it harder to teach a vast number of students. We are more fun of talking things that is out of the topic, or it may relate but in a way that it is hard to ride with, especially with the boys because according to the text, engineering students are abundant in men. In that case Sir Sajed usually joins the conversation to get their attention, I know he’s doing it to bring those people back into the line with the topic.
Engineering is very difficult course that is in need of deep understanding and a lot of new information to be tackled by the teachers, so, Sir Sajed always search for new texts, new strategies to cope with the needs of the students. In this case, I really appreciate the effort that Sir Sajed did for the engineering students, because with the new information and new strategies, students of engineering in USEP will not be left by the fast changing world.
There is no gain without pain they said, I really salute those teachers who stands for us inorder to teach and introduce the world to us. What a hero they are comparable to, nothing I guess. Teachers like them who did not loose their interest in teaching us must be appreciated like Sir Sajed who tend to gain the respect of the students even though he used to give them low grades. What secret lies within him that made the students like him inspite of the circumstances USEP have? You answer.
For me it is not the facilities that lead us on top, it is not about the culture of the students, But how do the teachers mold us. Can your teacher do that? Only teachers with full motivation to teach their students are capable of it I guess.

The article that was written by Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan is about being a good professional. A professional who is doing his work with right conduct and a person who keeps his feet on the ground. They say that engaging oneself in teaching gives one a stressful and haggard day, every day! it’s the opposite one for Mr. Ingilan who maybe, is stress sometime but enjoying such.
A teacher is not only a teacher by profession, they are also our foster parents and they are important because if they’re not here, what would we be? We could not be able to become an engineer without a teacher who will teach us on how to do a thing and why is this thing need to be done. Bonding with students is really helpful; because they will know that they are not just a student who will receive “palakol” grades as well as they are a friend, a barkada of a professional. Teachers only calculate what we have done with their given exercises, we should not blame them, and it is our job to be good in school, not the teachers. After all the low grades, we must give a big salute to the teachers who spend most of their time teaching us than being with the most important ones.

USEP isn't a spectacular institution for nothing. Despite of the incalculable problems that our school have especially in the College of Engineering, it wouldn't still bring its status down for as long as the quality education we aimed for is there that would mold the students into better individuals by the help of our professors through their unique teaching strategies.

We all know that it's hard to be a teacher and students should always respect and love them. Indeed engineering students are noisy, but what the author (Mr. Sajed Ingilan) has been trying to do is to how to handle them using various types of teaching strategies to get their full attention and in order for them to learn even without equipments. One of his strategies is to use his voice to voice out his thoughts and He's also thankful for the textbooks that are produced for the students. The author stated some of his experiences in handling engineering students. He has been concern of the classrooms, equiments, the population and the differences of the students but he never give up because of his passion for teaching.

This article talks about how the author, Sir Sajed S. Ingilan handled Engineering students. In my own understanding as an Engineering student, it's true that the classrooms are very messy because the chairs and the teacher's table is very old, few electric fans are working , some of the fans become nests for birds, plus the hot environment, and it's unpleasant to see in the eye. For me, I don't have a choice because this is USEP. This kind of enviroment didn't stop Sir Sajed in teaching English to us because he takes it as a challenge.

I'm impressed by his way of teaching because he uses his voice to get the attention of the students because it's simple, to make the students active in his class and he's very close to his students because it's essential in a student-teacher relationship.

There are different teachers around the world, the one that tells, the one that explains and the one that demonstrates. Mr. Sajed Ingilan possesses all of these characteristics of a teacher but what makes him different is that he inspires. Aside from being capable of teaching, he is also good in inspiring his students. In the article given, he shows us the problems he encountered in teaching at the College of Engineering in USeP. According to him, the environment of the class really affects the learning of the students but he never uttered bad words about the scenario. It shows on how good Mr. Sajed is and how he takes this as a challenge. During class, he puts his attention not to the messy classroom but on us because he is really concern on the learning of his students.

He is also a very sociable and approachable teacher. You can talk to him as a friend and sometimes he joins the conversation of a student but we must not abuse the freedom and goodness Mr. Sajed gave us. He inspires his self by remembering the things that he instilled to us including his self. So we must have a good return to him such as following his policies in class.

The college of Engineering in the University of Southeastern Philippines has been attached to some negative thoughts such as “messy classrooms, noisy students and big number of students”. With these scenarios, some teachers are not comfortable to teach because the environment is not really suitable for teaching and learning. But then, Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan treated these negativities as challenge. He does’nt mind any more about the cleanliness of the room. Instead of writing on the board, he uses his voice to catch attention, and it is very effective for me because if you haven’t paid attention for just a short time, you will surely miss some important thoughts in the lesson. Another thing, Mr. Ingilan is also not that strict inside the class. He has also time to join non-sense conversations for fun. With that, he is building a good frelationship to the students which makes the learning process between the professor and the students a smooth one.

In these conditions, we can determine the effectiveness and resourcefulness of the teacher. Mr. Ingilan’s strategies are just right for this kind of situation. Being here inside the portals of the unversity, we must learn to adjust with our environment or else we will not survive.

Yet, the appearance and what can we directly see through our naked eyes are not that important when it comes to the quality education. What really matters most is what is happening inside that ragged and ancient rooms. Professors molding every student they handle to be a successful and victorious person in the near future. Molding them to be a World Class Engineers.

It is written on the history of USeP or specifically on the College of Engineering, how many students have undergone through the teachings of Sir Sajed Ingilan. And through this article you can truly see how close and how strong are the bonds between him and his past students. It only proves how great his teaching skills and strategies that would make him blend in with his students and make him a remarkable and an unforgettable mentor. Perseverance and his will keeps him from teaching engineering students despite the factors onto what kind or how the engineering students behave during his class.

We do feel comfortable with you Sir because it seems like you are one of us and you always join us no matter how crazy we get. And yes, we know it has limitations too.

I just like to question one thing. Sir, did you orient us, the EN1-4, during our first meeting about your policies, rules and regulations? If so, I'm sorry i forgot.

Keep up the good work Sir Sajed Ingilan! For Immortality is a by-product of good work.

  90. In the article, it was stated how the author, Mr. Sajed Ingilan deals with the engineering students. As a teacher, there would be a lot of hindrances that you’ll be facing. It is not new to everyone that majority of the engineering students are men, that’s why noise is also a problem in teaching. Classrooms also affect the student’s interest in listening; and because of these problems the professor should think of alternative ways in order to get the attention of his/her students. Using a powerful voice is a good way to get the attention of the students, ‘cause nowadays you’ll find seldom students (or maybe there’s no more) who enjoy copying a lot of notes to be studied not minding if they are able to understand it or not. It’s a fact that it is very hard to handle modernized students, and I admire how Mr. Ingilan managed to establish a good relationship with his students. Hence, I consider him as one of the most professional teacher I had encountered.

I just hope that more teachers will realize that interaction is really important between themselves and their students.

I spent my elementary and high school days in public schools. Overpopulated classrooms, stinky comfort rooms and noise population are only few of the things that a public schooler must get used to.

On the other hand, we are fortunate enough to have these cool and encouraging teachers like Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan, who applies techniques and teaching innovations for a better way of learning. He teaches the way a new generation teacher should be.

I totally agree with Mr. Ingilan's views on how things go around inside an engineering class. I am a freshman engineering student too. Majority of my classmates are boys. They may talk about things that only them could relate into. But most of the time, we share our stories together, respecting each other's feelings.

Moreover, the scenario in a USEP engineering class is always expected to be noisy and disorderly, knowing that most of the students are gentlemen and that engineers are said to be "WILD" creatures.

As an aspiring engineer, I am looking forward to all the things that I will learn and experience at USEP. I am expecting that it would be a difficult yet fulfilling journey.

Messy rooms, a big number of students, sanguine students. These are the things you will encounter in the public schools. It’s not new to me because I’ve been a student in public schools since I was in my elementary days. Now, I’m here in USeP, the facilities and equipments are not good to be a place of learning, I don’t care because I’m used to it…
The main point of the author, Sir Sajed S. Ingilan, is how to cope with these common problems. He emphasized mainly the Engineering students and their facilities. Being a teacher in an Engineering class is a very difficult task. Handling the most bull-headed students in USeP and teaching in worse rooms are some of the problems a teacher encounter.
To deal with these, Mr. Ingilan used various techniques and strategies to catch the attention of the students like using a powerful voice. Aside from that, he had built an open communications with his students and used to adapt their interests so that they are comfortable with him. Because at the end of the day, this communication sir built someday turn into a strong relationship that even if those his previous students not under his class are still communicating with him (like what he cited in his article). With that, I salute sir for a job well done. THANK you Sir Sajed.

The author in this passage is inspiring us and molding our minds. He never neglect to teach engineering students, he uses his strategies for him to catch the attention of everyone. He teaches without minding if the facilities is lacking or not. His goal is to share his thoughts for us to gain knowledge. He use to make bonds with his students and make a memories with them. I totally agree on the author that Engineering Building is noisy place with messy classrooms and big number of students, despite of that teachers like Mr. Ingilan enjoys teaching engineering students. As a student of Sir Sajed Ingilan, i do agree with his article because as i enrolled in USeP , the first thing a new student would notice are the facilities which are "ancient" especially in the College of Engineering but if you would come to think of it, it is more important to focus on the academics. Which is why, i am thankful for what Sir Sajed Ingilan has been doing like raising his voice catch my attention or giving activities for us to learn.

  95. Classrooms are the primary problem of USEP. Whenever you enter the room, you possibly pick the best chair to sit on or i might say the most stable rather. But as what I believe, you can't have the word SUCCESS if you didn't face the word FAILURE. You can't appreciate sweet if all that you tasted are sweets. That's why let's be happy to taste bitterness, sometimes.

I agree with the author that it's not easy to handle such students. Engineering are one of the most complex students yet they are easy to understand when you already know what complex means. It's also hard to teach when the environment itself is not so comfortable. Adjustments are highly needed. I also agree with his statement "walang personalan". It's true that in order to gain rice, you must plant grain. It will not easily come out then you'll just pick it and there you have it! There's no "kapwa" in this world except for those who already conquered the walls of life. That's why we must give and take. We must work hard and listen to what our instructor says and then give all the best we can so that he will also give us good grades. It's just like giving off carbon dioxide and taking in oxygen. But still, the instructor is a great factor for the students to learn and understand. Just like what the author wrote that he has a great strategy that he can make the students understand that even though they have low grades, good relationship is not affected.

I really appreciate what the author is doing with his students. Although hard, he still did not regret. I'm very happy to be one of the students that he is teaching right now. And also in the end of this statement, I'm very proud to tell in advance, “Thank you Sir. We learned a lot through your activities which are not boring”.

  96. This article shows us of what kind of teacher can adjust to his students.A teacher that can make his own way make his students to be more comfortable to his class. Teaching engineering students is a very tough task. But,Mr. Sajed Ingilan is a UNIQUE one. He handle his students in his own way. He takes the challenge of being an engineering teacher.

Many teachers had an headache handling students like us. In addition, the teachers also has the problem of taking the attention of the students because of the lack of facilities in the university. The students make their "libangan' for not making bored in the class. It is not easy to adjust to the students like us.But if you is sincere to your vocation you can do it.

I'm very glad to read this article. It shows what the life of engineering student is. The life that may lead us to certain happiness in the end. Studying hard is the key to success.

It is through the perseverance of the teacher to help those students who are willing to learn and they’re eagerness to share their knowledge is the reason why despite the noisy students, messy rooms, and big number of students in the class professors are still attending the class.
As on how the professor handles the students, First I am pretty much impressed on how he gets the attention of the students. Using his voice to captivate the students is a unique way on how to handle a class. Not to mention his very nice accent in his English. Next, are the activities which doesn’t only give you fun but also lessons. Those give us something to look forward to during our English class. Another, I do like him building friendship with his students, it becomes more easier for the students approach him in asking questions or clarifications.
I agree on what the author had mentioned that the messy rooms can be a distraction during class discussion but reading the lines “ This is USeP . But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this as a challenge.” opened my eyes that this not-so-good facilities isn’t a hindrance.

  98. Based on the article read, it shows the hindrance faced by the author/instructor, Mr Sajed Ingilan in teaching students in the college of engineering. Messy rooms, dirty blackboards, dusty chairs and an unpleasant environment make learning uninspiring for us students. What makes it worse is the ambience inside the room where students are in an uproar and the heat seems to be roasting us. But despite all of these things, Mr. Sajed still perseveres on teaching his students in order for them to learn. He tries to have a good relationship with each one of them and looks for better ways for students to understand the lesson well. I am lucky enough to have a great teacher like him, able to make each and every class fun and exciting especially every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
As for the other instructors, I hope they may also find ways to make the class much more lively and much more fun but human as we are, we must accept the fact that each and every instructor has his or her different style of teaching and we must respect them for that. Finally, I am thankful that our English 1 teacher is Mr. Sajed Ingilan and he is more than enough for me.

  100. The text shows how hard for a teacher to teach in a messy room, noisy students,etc..This problem is common in CE.

As i noticed, professor handle the students by using their voice. And by means of approaching their students.Sometimes professor joined their students in joking and making noise. This is what I noticed in our class, especially in English and Filipino.Professor as well as the students are having fun with each other. And this makes the class more interesting and fun.

I agree that teaching engineering students is very hard.It is because in a class, the majority of the students is boys. Therefore,it is normal to have a messy room and noisy students. But it is up to the professor on how he/she adjust with that reality.

The Engineering building, dusty floor, warm temperature, stinky comfort rooms, chairs and tables that have clearly seen better days, noisy students (talking about anything to pass the time). I guess that's how you can describe it on a normal day. But still, the building itself cannot define the individuals in it. As they say "Don't judge a book by it's cover".

The students, graduates and especially the teachers, these are what defines the success of the College of Engineering. I say "especially the teachers" because, simply put, what would we be without them?

The author (Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan)for me, handles a class of Engineering students well. He adapts his methods to the class that he is teaching, which for me is very effective. He uses activities that requires students to use their own thinking skills rather than just blabbering about things that would take time to process. But, when he does talk, he uses a well-modulated voice that gets everyone's attention. I would also say that his methods of reprimanding students who cross the line is harsh but quite sufficient (after witnessing his method at MR. Batoctoy's expense.

All-in-all I agree with the author's teaching style, as long as it teaches the students what they have to learn from their Englsih subject.

  102. Teaching is indeed a hard and breath-taking job. It takes a lot of patience and courage to wake up everyday just to teach a bunch of hardheaded students who worries about getting 5.0 than keeping the blood running in their veins. These things remind me of the scenes from the American movies except for the fact that they've got good facilities. So, in this case I definitely agree with the writer's insights. If I try to put myself in his shoes, maybe smiling with the people you gave failing grades is better than keeping them blind from the reality. In this way, you didn't only taught them grammar and literature, but also the process of moving on and acceptance. Some students may not appreciate all this learnings, but I do, seriously.

  105. It's really hard to beat a person who never gives up and that person is Sir. Sajed Ingilan.

I know that teaching is not easy to simply say “It’s just a matter of teaching” but it's the way how you put your soul onto it. It really test your patience and serenity towards your students but with sir. Sajed , he make sure that things will be on good hands. The text that I have read is a text full of reality. Even if I'm just a freshmen in college(College of Engineering), I know already that it is true, because of the stories shared to me by the students in the higher years. But these words(written on the text), made me realize that the lack of facilities aren't the reason to hinder us from learning things. Even if USEP doesn't have enough facilities to cater such students, most of the students are still board passers, and even topnotchers. I agree to the part where Sir Sajed says that it is the students who make their grades. Sometimes, we may say or even think "Why USEP ranks top 5?". We may say that it is impossible because of the lack of facilities, but the thing that made USEP - USEP are the teachers who mold the students.

Instead of making this as a hindrance, our professor in English 1 sir Sajed Ingilan turns this as a challenge for him to teach the students well in the engineering building.I really idolized him the way he teaches us despite of those messy classrooms and ancient chairs and tables.

  110. Based on the article, the given scenario goes like this, " there's a teacher who has bunch of comments regarding how hard teaching English for Engineering students was, he also find it a bit challenging about the unorganized and ancient facilities.

From that Scenario, I do agree that teaching in this type of place is really hard. Why? It is because, first, I do agree also about what the author said regarding with the messy rooms and noisy students. because of this, sometimes, the lessons are not taken up straightly to its points.

Me myself know that it is also really true that Engineering place was mostly occupied by male students, so from that, we can visualize what would be the outcome if these people will be in same room. Of course it would be soooooo noisy, and because of that noise, the teacher might get irritated, he might get confuse on how to manage this and that is a sign of :finding it hard to teach".

Our teacher, Mr. Sajed Ingilan shows us and tells us that, there are still other professors who are so clever, for the reason that they could manage this problems.

So, in summarization, It is really hard for a normal teacher to handle a class with this type of scenario, but in Sir. Ingilan's case, I can say that he is excluded from those other teachers, because as what I had observed during his sessions in our class in EN1-4, he can manage us, he can make us cooperate to the class, or in other terms, he knows how to catch the hearts and minds of the students. For that, I'm VERY thankful that we had him as our ENGLISH 1 teacher.

I agree on the strategies that Mr. Ingilan is using. He's establishing and developing good relationship and intimacy with the students. It's very obvious that there's an enormous gap between a student and a teacher. But I was amazed to the desire of Mr. Ingilan to lessen or abridge this gap between him and his students. But the students must always put in their minds that even if the teacher is trying to abridge the gap, the respect must always remain and dwell.

“This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this a challenge.”

These are the exact words Sir Sajed S. Ingilan has said to his class. I really agree with it.

Before, I believed every teacher are just forced or somehow forced to teach in USeP. (No Offense. :D) Why? Ancient rooms, noisy students, and huge number of students are the main reasons, especially in the College of Engineering. I myself doesn't even want to study in USeP. But no, let us not include Sir Sajed S. Ingilan, the only exception.

Even though this is the situation of the Engineering students, he still has the passion to teach. He is not even saying a word about it! Indeed an amazing teacher. Instead, he provides alternative ways on how to improve his teaching. I can also say that he has a good heart because even though he gave his students got a 3.0, they still smile at him. But letting him have an English class in the Chemistry Laboratory? I believe that it's injustice on his part. He's so amazing and yet what does he get in return? Disappointment. But as what he says, 'This is USeP'.

And no single person could dare underestimate this institution. It is because not only the students have Unity, Stewardship, Excellence and Professionalism but also the teachers plus their passion.

  116. I disagree with the idea of the article that says that the main problem in teaching English in the College of Engineering is primarily due to the unappealing state of the classrooms based on the following arguments. One, University of Southeastern Philippines is a state university. We need not mention that most, if not all of the students there didn't come from prestigious backgrounds which means that most of us there are basically used to messy rooms and sweaty clothes pressed on our sun-kissed complexions all through out our lives. Therefore, the setting (i.e fans that don't work, wobbly chairs...) doesn't affect much of our learning and listening capacities.

My second, and the core of my argument, is the real reason why it is believed to be difficult to teach English in the College of Engineering; English is simply not our forte. If we were so enthralled with the beauty of the English language, then we wouldn't be in CoE. These students obviously didn't take Engineering so they could learn about lexicon, semantics, or phonetics. To sum it all up, gaining the interest of students who are more on to the analytical sphere of intelligence is the greatest challenge of an English professor in a room full of loud, unruly students who are more often than not, preoccupied with their Math majors.

As what many people would say, having a messy and a noisy environment is not that conducive for learning. With the huge number of students occupying the Engineering building, messy environment and noise coming from the five floor levels and four corners of the building are expected. These problems, as others would say, are hindrances for learning. This is true, BUT not all the time.

I agree on the author's perspective as to how he looks at this situation. Stating the line "and I do not regret" gives emphasis that the situation is not that discouraging at all. On my own opinion, learning is not based on the environment or the facilities that it has. Well maybe it can affect, but in the end, it will always depend on the learner's willingness to learn and the teacher's teaching effeciency. I may consider myself lucky for having our english Instructor who does everything to keep his students interested with the subject. The article that I have just read awhile ago was an agent for realization on how teachers exert their efforts despite the challenges that come along the way. Kudos!

First of all, I like the way Mr. Ingilan was able to appreciate in teaching Engineering students. Now, I find it quite ironic yet annoying thinking of the fact the it was the Engineers from USeP who gave so much success in becoming a premiere university. I mean, come on, Civil Engineers from USeP were able to build a concrete jungle, Electrical Engineers from USeP were able to find ways to lessen blackouts. Yet, they can't even help even in donating electric fans? It's not mandatory but come on, if it wasn't for the University's help, you wouldn't be able to reach that high, right? Think about it, USeP was able to reach Top 5 in the Philippines despite the wreckless, or should I say under-managed, facilities. Now, what if USeP 's facilities were as advanced as other schools, we can reach a higher rank, right?

People always say we must take it as a challenge, we must take life as a challenge. Ofcourse it's a challenge, but who are the competitors? I believe it's a Man vs Man conflict. I have no problem with the facilities as long the teachers are able to give quality education, but I believe we would be more motivated to study if there are better facilities.

Now, going to Mr. Ingilan, he's quite a warrior, with noises clashing, battling the heat, shielding himself from dust, and ofcourse, avoiding the chalkboard. Isn't it quite ironic to think that a chalkboard's duty is to help as a learning facility, but instead, it becomes a dilemma? As a warrior, Mr. Ingilan would need some weapons to help him, and there is this one thing that he brings everytime, and that's the aura of respect.

His students respect him so much. Even though he gave them a low grade, they are still respecting him as a person and as a teacher, and I think I know the reason behind this. We came to USeP not to have high grades, but to learn. So despite having a grade of 3.0, as long as we were able to learn something that we can use in our daily lives, that's quite a nice thing to have.

They say respect is pretty much hard to earn, and I believe Mr. Ingilan earns this one right here. I see him as one of the martyr people, that despite the aggravation given to him by his environment, he's always willing to overcome these things and give quality education to students. They also say that great people are praised less, but are rewarded the most. And I know Mr. Ingilan deserve this kind of respect.

The bottom line of this article is that teaching is not an easy profession, so we must learn to respect our teacher because that's the only thing that is giving them the motivation is to know that we were able to learn from our teachers. We must instill in our minds that if it wasn't for our teachers, we wouldn't be as successful as we are, even as a student.

Those hindrances will be eliminate by the one who handles it and how he handles it .

As a student of Sir Sajed Ingilan , I can say that he has the "something" that makes us more interested in listening to him not because of his loud voice but in the way he teaches .
He is making a good relationship within the students that's why the students will learn so much from him .

I admire him of how he interacted with us and make a good relationship between his students .

With that , I am proud to say that your my professor !

As what my perception sees in the article, it states how our professor, Sir Sajed deals with such a dilemma (not just Sir Sajed though),large numbers of students, rooms in a shambles, etc. If we are going to put ourselves in their stressful situation, then probably it will be something like a self-destruction but we know that this is USEP, and we love USEP, and because of that, we strive hard (not all though xD)just like Sir Sajed, he's doing his best to teach us professionally and to connect with us smilingly even with such a pre-historic environment that our school has. :)

Thank you Sir Sajed, May God be the glory!!!

English is a crazy language, that is a fact that we all know. And this is why I salute all the amazing persons that knows how to handle not only the subject but also the students, the English professors. Given the scenario in USEP Engineering Department, the messy rooms, the noisy students and the great number of students, makes interactive learning a big challenge that needs to be surpassed. The way the English professor handles the students in this department is really admirable! The tremendous effort that he makes to make the class fun and worth anticipating for; the different strategies and new techniques that he presents, makes one want to learn more and improve to become better. Aside from that, the way he handles his work is full of professionalism and this is clearly established among his students, that is why everyone still admires him inspite of the grades that they receive. And his concept "You get what you deserve" is where we all agree.

"Don't judge a book by its cover"

I know this might sound cliche but I personally think this overall describes USEP, especially the College of Engineering building. Sir Sajed also proved to us that he applied this passage to himself because he accepted the challenge of teaching notorious engineering students despite the fact that the building's features isn't all that appealing. I know i sound harsh but lets us face the truth, we lack facilities that will help us become more knowledgeable. I can still recall my friend saying "Ma, di ko muskwelag USEP uy. Kahugnuon naman ang mga building diri uy". And true to his words, he didn't enroll here.
I agree with Sir Sajed that we should not be discouraged by the physical appearance of our building. Fear not all those stinky comfort rooms, rusty chairs and those bummer electric fans, but instead, focus on the excellence that the school is conducting. The article also describes how Sir Sajed handles his students with complete confidence that he will impart information to all of us by means of becoming more comprehensive in learning English. I also like how Sir came up with his teaching strategies. We all know that by just plainly listening to a boring teacher would eventually makes us sleepy and make us do something law-abiding like vandalism but with him, we can never do that because just by listening to his voice (no offense meant sir, its just that i think it is also one of your strategies to make your voice sound like that. it keeps us wide awake and encourages us to listen and join the discussion).
I also agree with you in interacting with your students and having a fun student-teacher relationship because I believe that it is a mutual learning and earning system between the two. A student can learn something from the teacher and in return, the teacher also learns something from the student. Truly, Sir Sajed is a role model not just to all teachers out there but also to the students that is under his supervision. God bless you sir :)

  123. This article shows how the author handles and teach engineering students, in spite of that "messy rooms, noisy students, big number of students", as stated in the passage.
For me, it is a great challenge to face off especially when you are a teacher. My point is that it is an initiative of a teacher on how could they manage their students and how would the students get comfortable from listening to their respective teachers and adopt their surroundings that they have. I guess, Mr. Sajed Ingilan did it well for he is an effective and competent teacher. He has that kind of strategy that would let his students to lend their ears to listen to him and he is also a good speaker. Lack of facilities or any kind that bothers you is not a reason to stop, instead use it as a challenge to yourself to make your profession meaningful.

We are lucky to have a teacher like you, sir Sajed. May you continue to share knowledge and ideas to us.

For the standards of a College University, I do agree that the USeP do have substandard facilities. Old chairs and tables, these are two of the things that an engineering student from the USeP could say to describe their rooms.

I do applaud to Sir Sajed for his perseverance and patience even with this kind of facilities. He shows the conviction to perform his job effectively and efficiently. I myself, a student from the engineering department, does not consider these substandard facilities to be a hindrance into attaining quality education. I do believe that these are only part of the obstacles that we have to go through in order to accomplish our goals. There's a reason why the USeP ranks as the Top 5 university in the Philippines, it is because USePians and teachers in this university have learned how to cope up with these hardships, how about the easy stuff? It would just be a scruff in the shoulders.

I am now in one of the last parts in my studies and that is to graduate in college. I believe that when you have undergone a lot of hardships in your college life, you will be equipped with more knowledge and wisdom on how to deal with the much more unaccommodating life in the real world.

You have to survive the burdens in college, and according to one survival expert, in order to survive, you have to " Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome ". In the likes of Sir Sajed, he used this 3 rules to accomplish giving quality education to students even with insufficient teaching materials. He improvised by discussing verbally rather than writing lessons in the board. He adapted to the noise and distinguished certain rules to maintain proper lecturing and helped the students adapt to this kind of environment by explaining them how this hardships could help them. Most of all, he helped the students overcome the hardships by having the determination and passion to teach no matter how difficult it is for him. Not only he overcame the situation, but also the students, the students learned how to deal with these situations and with that they also overcame.

I agree with all the information Sir Sajed said, I understood his point-of-view a lot even though I'm still a first year student because I came from a public school, and the situation in my alma mater is almost the same as what it is here in the engineering department in the USeP. Even though he did not include it in his composition, I know that Sir Sajed is referring to the idea that the English Teachers, and we the students have to perform the 3 rules in surviving, we have to " Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome ".

English teachers like Sir Sajed, Improvised, Adapated, and Overcame all of these situations that is why I can say that we are thankful that we are under the care of our respected Sir Sajed Ingilan. I believe that he will guide us to success as how he helped our upper-class men who are now successful in their careers.

    (Part 1)
Sweat flowing like a waterfall in a hot summer; noise roaring like the thunder of a raging lion; the horrible stench of a rotting hell; marks of devastation were evident on every corner; souls of the tormented wailed and cried. I saw the wreckage of paradise in my very own eyes and somehow I was inspired.
The College of Engineering is a living portrayal of the day to day battle of mankind for survival. It's a battle for knowledge grasping among creatures who lurked in the shadows of this college with the gods and demigods who hold the reins controlling the outrage of the creatures of this so-called demonic fortress.
In this college, a particular observation caught the attention of the English Master Demigods. Creatures of a great number belonging to this group were said to be the master speakers of the broken English language. It is quite alarming for them for this college brings pride and honor to the whole university adding to the prestige the institution had displayed for years and whatever negative feedback it gets must be straightened out the soonest time possible.
A particular demigod had been under my sight of curiosity. I frequently asked myself, "How could he survive this condition? The reins he is holding is not enough to keep the creatures on steady hold. He must be something to last this long. What did he do?" From time to time, I studied him and gathered some information as to how he kept his power on that context which is essential for his survival in that place. I have observed three amazing strategies he portrayed in his everyday dealings with these wild creatures and their peculiar environment.

    1. (Part 2)

First observation: POLICY ORIENTATION. I learned that he established rules to keep unruly conducts at bay. I had a good, deep thought about this one. To be an efficient and effective mentor, one must set a limitation to his students that bound them to stick to the rules thus, avoiding unnecessary disruptive uprisings. In this manner, the demigod exhibited professionalism in his dealings. For this particular reason, I craved to learn more about his strategic defenses. I proceeded. Second observation: KEEPING IN TOUCH. As a mentor, you are expected to act like one, to separate and place yourself as an authority in your class. He amazed me much from what I had witnessed. He's keeping in touch with them! Talking to them like one of their own, leveling with the kind of mentality and tagging along! I learned that in order to earn these creatures' respect, you must show to them that you do care. How I wish I had known it sooner! The demigod have so many things under his sleeve, I fantasized. Then again, I went on. My third and last observation which is the most important: AWAKENING THE INTEREST. In this observation, I learned that to have a broad knowledge over something is not enough in the teaching-learning process. There are external factors that greatly affect the process of imparting knowledge and accumulating it, and one of these is the interest. The interest is what's keeping things going. You might be knowledgeable but you don't have the spark that will ignite the passion in your listeners' mind and heart. He employed strategies that will cater the needs and interests of his students. Learning is a matter of choice, if you have the interest to choose it.
The demigod showed me a lot. He opened the dimensions which I considered impossible even to the point of imagination. For short, he opened my mind and helped me flap my wings for my upcoming flight. In his class, you will not find a single yawning creature staring blankly in the sky, it's either an open mouthed listener or an intent eager beaver.
It is affirmative that the College of Engineering can be considered as a fortress of doom if you intend to look at it's external savage appearance. But, just like what the old saying goes, "NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER." No matter how traumatic were the stories about the fortress, all I can say is, "It doesn't even matter. I am an observer, a creature belonging to that fortress. Here I am, I choose to survive! What's more about the demigod's situation? He's holding the reins, gripping it tightly so that he won't fall. Tragic but admirable."
The cries in the battlefield are deafening but they're not the cries of defeat but of victory.

Life itself is a race towards our ultimate dream. As we go on with this race, we will encounter different things which will either slow us down or boost our speed up. For instance, going to a university with not so excellent facilities is undeniably one of the major factors that slows us down. However, no matter how many negative things there are present in USEP, there are also a lot of positive things which counteracts all these. And they are the so called "professors."

An English professor is a living compass. He guides us to the right way so that we'll never get lost as we go through the race track. He is like a candle that is willing to consume himself just to enlighten the ways of his students during dark nights. He is unstoppable. No chaotic classroom and annoying noisy students will stop him from sharing knowledge. I believe that his voice is his greatest tool towards education. I also agree that strategic planning is very helpful in conducting a class. I admire the strong will of the author to help the students learn while having fun. We, students, are very thankful to have an English professor who is very dedicated to his job. You are a true hero of the modern era. All hail the professors of USEP!

As an Engineering student, i can say that teaching us is a difficult task. From the facilities and to us students, for the Engineering building maybe has the poorest facilities in all USeP, our rooms have limited electric fans, destroyed chairs and etc..
But as a student of Sir. Sajed Ingilan, I'm satisfied with the way he teaches us He is not the Serious kind of type Professor, he Sometimes cracks some jokes with us.

And He teaches us how to Interact with other People and in a short period of time he did made a good Relationship not just with us Mechanical Engineering students but also to other students as well.

  129. The article talks about how a professor, Mr. Sajed Ingilan cope with the struggles in teaching engineering students. And also in this article he introduces his technique in teaching engineering students, And for me it better than old techniques because some professors that are using old style in teaching are sometimes too serious and boring then sometimes it makes the students feel bored and unhappy so in result they will learn nothing, and most of the students nowadays just rely to their teachers in learning! They don't seek and explore more for them also to learn more!. So for me i like the technique of Mr. Ingilan because it makes the students feel happy and enjoy while learning. :)

  131. “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”- Henry Brooks Adams

As someone would walk into the profession of being an educator, hauling with him are greater errands and responsibilities ahead. Being a teacher requires love, interest, patience, passion and dedication. He himself would eagerly stand as a parent to each and every student of the class, molding, developing, and guiding them towards attaining the word success.

Based on the article of Mr. Sajed Ingilan, he brought up diverse problems about being a teacher, the student’s manners and inadequate school facilities. But these problems he had come across did not become an encumbrance in pursuing his goal which is to teach; rather these problems became a challenge for him to overcome his struggles and to help the young ones in reaching their goals in life. With his encompassing experiences that he had brought over the years, these helped him in adjusting and making stratagem for his students to be able to comprehend and learn new tidbits of knowledge every meeting.

Mr. Ingilan, is a great teacher indeed or should I also say he is a well-equipped one. Inadequate school facilities were not that really a huge problem for him, because what matters most are the welfare and the erudition of his learners. And instead of being discouraged and getting mad upon entering the doors of a four-walled room hearing those annoying and irritating noise of the students, he looked it in a brighter side and tried to mingle and let them feel compatibility with one another, he also pointed out the word respect to students which is very essential and a must thing to do for every humankind.

But despite on everything on what he has been through, Mr. Sajed Ingilan has left footprints and did his significant role on every student of the University of the Southeastern Philippines.

Sir Sajed S. Ingilan just shared us his experiences in teaching in USeP especially in engineering building. It is stated in this article that he can teach engineering students according to his way of teaching. He also wanted us to tell that there are no hindrances that he can’t handle in teaching students. It is stated that he has a broad patience to his student, having a broad patience is good characteristic to be done by a teacher. His way of teaching is a unique way, he always relates something that’s interesting to hear so that we, the students won’t get bored listening to his words. He is a great teacher he always smiles when he teaches us that makes us the students to be comfortable to him. Mr. Sajed has a point on how he handle the students, he may having hard time using the chalkboard because it’s not that good to write at, but his unique way of teaching has a great impact on how he handle students.

  133. This article shows how the author, Mr. Ingilan, handles his class. I agree that engineering students are noisy and their classrooms are messy which discourage the newly hired professors. As a student, I salute those professors who handle a not so interesting subject but they make it interesting to the students. As what I had experienced in my high school life, English subject usually requires a pair of notebooks just to write all the topics discussed. But as a student of the author, Mr. Ingilan, I can understand the topics by just listening to him. No need to write many things on my notebook, because he discusses the lesson well and all of those remains on my brain.

I agree on what the author had said . It is true that the size of the engineering class , their noisiness , the messy classrooms and the ancient chairs are not an excuse to say that the instructor will be miserable or unlucky . It's on how they handle the situation and the students like what Mr. Ingilan did . They said engineering students are not good in English, and I might say it's not true because we have our English teachers who teach us despite of messy rooms, noisy and big number of students. The common problems that a teacher encounters that make them conclude that College of Engineering students are difficult to handle.

But for Sir Ingilan, he never make it as a hindrance for his work, for him it is a challenge on how he will capture the attention of these different kind of students to listen to him to make his teaching strategies effective. That is how Mr. Ingilan differ from other teachers because he has his own way in teaching so that we could learn more from traditional English to modern English.

And in the end of the day, Mr. Ingilan would say job well done especially when he saw the students faces really learned out from his discussion and wear a smile saying thank you that proves a good relationship of a teacher and a students. It makes a teacher satisfied although it's tiring but at the same time enjoying :)

In that statement, it is not just the students who are suffering but also the teachers. Those teachers have their own styles on teaching us and it is a great privilege to have a teacher who knows how to deal with different students.Yes, it is true that it is hard to handle a class which is so messy and having very noisy students but salute those teachers who can bravely handle a class effectively and a class which can't be called boring. The fact that the author graduated at the same school where he teaches at present is a great advantage for he already knows how it feels to be on our shoes. How grateful we are, for having a teacher who had his own ways of teaching for us to understand fully each lesson regardless of the messy classrooms and those uncleaned chalkboards.

  142. I find USEP a very surprisingly school. Before, I often heard about it's good reputation of being standard school and having quality education but nothing about it's in need of renovation facilities. No one have told me this before until I find it out during the enrollment days and most especially when the classes started. At first, it's quite dissapointing at my part in choosing such school. With all these messy environment, polluted classrooms and corridors, but there's no easy way of changing all of these things, simply we must just accept the consequences.

Being an engineering student, I can also feel and witness all of the students concern especially in CoE. It's not new anymore to me, and I think I gradually adapting myself to this kind of environment. On the other hand, I know teachers and other staff are also having hard time in teaching and doing there respective task. If the students that only sit and listen the whole day can feel these challenges, how much more to those who talk and explain the whole day. For me I can say we're blessed enough to have such kind of teachers.

It's nice to hear that engineering dominates USEP campus, we have the excellence, good teachers, and most especially FACILITIES. Being a top school consecutively clearly states that having all of these hindrances doesn't affect the reputation of the school but we can say that it's nothing is hard nor impossible to USEPIAN's.

Although it is really hard to listen in a dirty and noisy classroom, we as students should also take a part to understand the situation just like in the engineering department. Sir Sajed is really smart in terms of handling his students. He jives with them, but he also reminds his students about their limits. He think of new activities to catch the attention of his students. The role of a teacher is really important in a classroom scenario. 146. Being an instructor of the students in the College of Engineering poses different challenges to the instructor. Adding to that is the type of place or shall i say the situation of the students which bothers the instructor most is the facilities of USEP's College of Engineering are very ancient shall i say, dirty classrooms, smelly comfort rooms, old chairs. The place is very unhealthy to adapt the learning skills the students need for their future. The great thing about this place is that though the type of environment is as said above, instructors try their very best to accomplish their oath to their job.
Mr. Sajed Ingilan is the most adaptive or shall I say he is the most fragile in doing his taken oath as a teacher. He has adapted to all kinds of students the quite ones, the noisy one and maybe sometimes the bullies. A teacher will always be a teacher until the day we students of Mr. Sajed Ingilan graduate he will always be the teacher that have inspired us to go to school every single day of our student life. He will be an inspiration, due to his courage to teach his students from the bottom of his heart; Though the College of Engineering is what we see today he endures all sacrifices for all of his students. Even if USeP doesn't have the state of the art facilities like others had. USeP have a world-class teachers like, MR. Sajed S. Ingilan

  149. The author,Sajed S. Ingilan, clearly stated on how he handled the problem involving Engineering students and the university itself.

The moment I stepped down in this university, I had myself full of expectations as what is in-store for us students here in USeP. I got myself somehow disappointed on the first time I saw the university but in the end I realized that the reason why I enrolled in this institution is to learn and get myself a job. My main point is we share a common denominator with the author and that is we are here in USeP is to teach and learn wholeheartedly.

As for someone who travels the road of being a professional educator, its not easy for you to adjust because of the responsibilities and errands awaiting. Not only presenting yourself as a teacher but standing as a parent to all of his students is what really matters the most.

Based on the article, the author emphasized various problems that a teacher could possibly encounter specifically messy rooms, noisy students, and big number of students. But these are just trivial matters for someone attaining his main goal which is to teach. With his experiences that he had brought over the years, he could easily adjust as how to accommodate his students.

In my opinion or based on reality, Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan is really a well developed educator and its an honor for us to be one of his respective disciples. He is an instrument of learning providing knowledge and sharing experiences to the students for them to utilize in the near future. Despite of the inadequacy of facilities and other factors that could possibly affect his teachings, he looked to the brighter side and and knew that his willingness in teaching knows no boundaries.

In your 5 years of teaching here in University of Southeastern Philippines, you had left a significant output not only to the students but also for the university itself. We salute to all teachers like you and may GOD be the one to give you what are you deserving

  150. Messy rooms, ancient chairs and tables, unflattering blackboards, inadequate facilities, and don’t even make me start about the heat inside the classrooms. I won’t hide the fact that I was utterly disappointed the first time I entered into the College of Engineering. On the first day of my college life, Room 305, all I could think about was how I would be able to concentrate on my lesson and learn in this sort of environment. I thought I had seen it all, the harsh reality of the difference dwelling between private and public schools. Yes, I studied in a private school in my elementary days and when I entered high school I moved to a public school. The difference was overwhelmingly stunning. Lessons are spoon-fed, the teachers are the ones who care for the students and life at school is all easy-going, while the situations in public schools are polar opposites of everything.

I thought that I seriously regretted enrolling to a school that possesses very poor facilities with noise polluted surroundings, but thankfully that didn’t last long. On our first meeting with Sir Sajed S. Ingilan he said something that I will never forget. He told us that even though our school is very poor and lacks in all aspects, it is in the student to strive hard in order to reach his goals and persevere. Thanks to his words I was slowly able to adapt and adjust to the lifestyle as a USEPian, especially as an engineering student. I very much do agree Sir that learning is directly proportional to the unity between the students and their professor. On that note, I applaud you Sir for connecting and socializing with us students, and creating a positive learning environment.

“Bugoya jud aning mga taga- engineering oy.”

“Sus, kanang mga taga engineering? Di man na kabalo mu English!”

Startling isn’t it? But whether I like it or not, these has been the statuses of the college I have entered. For so many years, according to many, engineering students are generalized to the extremes: either being the nerdest of nerds or the front liners responsible for the greatest mischief their respective campuses has ever seen. But in this institution, it’s the latter… yet I do not deny these descriptions, but for one.

College of Engineering. If you ever pass by our university, this is the one flanked with ruined machines and whose face is collaged by rusty glass windows, some of which are either shattered or immovable. Upon entering this fortress is the drawing room, a place dotted with tables and chairs that are, let’s say, not so serving its purpose. Sometimes, you have to be extra careful and vigilant to dodge raindrops, dust, or even nasty falling debris solely for the critical life of your plate.

Now let’s go up. Most (if not all) floors of this building has its own comfort room—a breezy room wafting great smells to the corridors and nearby rooms. But let’s take it. That’s life. Whatever we say, whatever we do, there will always be critics to our every action; and how we shape our lives depends on how we take these critiques.

People are what they are. The best way to penetrate someone deeper is to be with them: the best way to dig deeper into engineering students is by playing their game, learning their language and style, being somewhat like them. After all, they are still humans, like any other person we meet every day.

Mischievous? Yeah, we’re like that. We do that. And we enjoy that. Want to know why? To relieve ourselves of the pressure buildup! We’re just like any other student who wants to graduate in college, any other who can be pressurized. We know it won’t be an easy road, but who in this world would even say so? The geniuses will, and unfortunately, I am not one of them.

Furthermore, we cannot generalize the whole group just because of a few people. Even in statistics, you need a systematized way of sampling in order to get a fair data of the whole subject being studied. We’re just having our way of things, and we choose to do it in a mischievous manner. We choose to do it funny. But we also know that this course cannot be done by a load of jokes. We all have to work hard, what may be sufficient for us may not be sufficient for our superiors and for our chosen path.

And yes, dust, rust, rags, great smell… what are they anyway? Perhaps, people have forgotten how this college repetitively triumphed different fields and made its country and city proud.

But no matter what I say, I know this racism will never end because it’s a part growing up, a part of surviving. No matter what people say, this is us. This is our mark. We can change, but that would be our choice to make.

Lastly, I hate to press this to people, but we do know how to read, write and speak a certain global language.

  152. From what I have read, I can conclude that Sir Ingilan is a very patient teacher in a way that he neglects the teaching environment and focuses on the material to be tackled and not on the faulty/ lacking facilities. It is also evident (and for me it is) that Sir really finds ways in order for his class to be not boring but a lively class. True, he always cracks timely and effective jokes in class. I agree with the author when he said “This is USEP. But let this not disappoint you, instead, take this [as] a challenge”. because as we know it, life is not full of happy times, sometimes we really pass through sad times and times when new lack resources. In these times, we should be innovative and creative to improve our lives and not let ourselves be affected. Thank you sir.

  153. The enthusiastic article shows the true courage and diligence in work and in social courtesy of our brave teacher who effacingly encounters new yet not distinct problems here in the USEP environment. Mr. Ingilan always look on the bright side of the class, which is the students. He always bonds with them like close friends, and he encouraged them all that instead of being discouraged by the "cozy room"(oh, what an irony), they should take it as a challenge to urge themselves to study harder in achieving their specific goals in life.

I agree at all your keen statements sir, it is surely true that the ambiance of a classroom is capable of changing the mindsets of the students but for some of those people who is wise enough that can manipulate their mindset to continue moving forward without being distracted by their uncomfortable environment, they can earnestly make it to the top.

  154. The article shows how enthusiastic Sir Ingilan is in terms of teaching. He is very patient and energetic kind of person. Despite the hardships, he still manages to teach students well because in his work, he puts in mind that his sacrifices will never be wasted. A teacher like you sir is very rare in this vast world. I can assure you that what you gave to us will always be one of our keys towards success.

  155. As the author, Mr. Ingilan, describes the facilities of the College of Engineering building was quite all true. With just two electric fans, ancient like chairs, messy floors and vandalized walls, and not to forget sometimes the thing that always remind me of the school, the freaking smells of the comfort rooms, it will not be the hindrance to our instructor to teach us, because whatever happens, he will always be a teacher. And being a teacher was not that easy job, teaching a large number of students with different personalities, talking in front while other students are not listening, saying those words and extracting it just to let the students understands it. But as for Mr. Ingilan side, he considered it as a bright side for us to learn and understand the lessons. He do not let those things affects his teaching strategies. He continues to mold our mind with those modern techniques for us to cope with him,and even with it we still learn and get the point of our teacher, and not all teacher can resist in that situation.

  156. We all know that our university is our second home and we all know that our instructors and professors are considered as our second parents for that we must give importance of what we have in our institution! Being a teacher is a very tough profession. That's why I'm very thankful and happy to all instructors that are like Sir Sajed S. Ingilan for staying in his Alma Mater and teaching and sharing his knowledge to us. He did'nt give up for many years. As a freshman, I know that many of my classmates are mischievous! They act like high school students. For me, this article tells us that we must act dilegently and study hard for our future no matter what the chairs are,no matter how many students there are, no matter how noisy is a student and how messy are the rooms. The most important thing is the knowledge that is shared to us by the instructors. I hope that the given articles will give us many lessons for us.

  158. I appreciate the compliments and the felicitations that you expressed, and I take note of your criticisms as these will guide me on how to deal my students. Some of you may hate me because I give quizzes which are difficult to answer, quizzes that you do not know how to answer... I am just giving you a challenge. Yes, I discuss matters about Linguistics because I want you to know that learning a language is not an easy job. It requires knowledge and patience. So expect a lot of brain-cracking activities in our subject!

  159. The article showed by Mr. Sajed S. Ingilan is about what are tips in teaching englisg subjects, espcially handling eng'g students. He said that you should be creative and unique in teaching, because some eng'g students tend to give less importance to this subjects because they think that this kind of subjects are so important to there chosen course in eng'g.

PS: Sorry sa late comment sir :(((((
